Gifts for BM

Hi everyone,

What is the average amount a bride should spend on bridesmaids for gifts? I want to get them something that shows them I care but without going to overboard on spending.

What are somethings you got your bridesmaids?

Re: Gifts for BM

  • Get what you can afford.

    FWIW I got my girls:
A personal gift (1 girl a flask with her first name on it, the other fashion jewelry), matching jewelry for the wedding (earrings, bracelet, necklace), matching purse for dress, purse perfume, lip gloss, tide pen, and I put it in a tote with their first name on it.

I want to say I spend about a little less than $100 on each girl (I only had 2).

  • FI and I agreed no more than 125 on each.

  • I agree with Tiffanie-- spend what you have the budget to spend. I put together kits for a cozy night in for my girls. I got each a tote bag with a picture on it that matched their interests and filled the bags with stuff like a pashmina, silky PJs, spa stuff, a lotion candle, etc. I think that I spent $50-70 on each.

  • I'm going to spend what I would on a special birthday gift, so around $50.  It really depends on your budget.

Whatever it is, making sure they will like it is more important than price (but do try to spend about the same on each girl.)
  • My budget's around 50-60 per girl.

  • Agreed that you should do whatever you can spend but make it personal to them.

For my bridesmaids I got each of them a necklace that they can wear at the wedding if the choose (but each is different to match their personality). I also got each of them a beach bag with their initials and filled it with matching flip flops, magazines, a emergency kit (similar to those sold in stores), a monogramed bangle and mongramed flask. I am also considering either buying some sort of shirt or robe to get ready in. I like the idea of us all wearing white men's oxford shirts that are monogramed in pink.

The flasks matched our groomsmen who we gave flasks, matching ties, and beer bottle cap cufflings that I made myself.

If you do the work yourself you can save a lot of money.
