Could afford a distraction, how about you?

Good morning ladies!

Thursday means its just one more day till Friday (which is my favorite day of the week).  I could use a little of a distraction so I stop daydreaming about what I found out yesterday.

Yesterday I met with my BF at the store after work to do some much needed grocery shopping.  We went to Cosco, a massive whole sale warehouse.  Just before leaving with our items he brings me back to the jewelry case to look at rings.  I guess he wanted to get a better sense of my style.  We lingered there for a few minutes and left.  We left Cosco and I was in front of him in my car and I could see him in the rear view mirror. He was talking to someone on the phone.  I thought it was just one of his friends or something.  When we got home I parked my car and walked over to him to help him unload the groceries, he was still on the phone when I knocked on the window and he signaled to me that he was almost done.  Well as I was walking away I glanced down and saw the caller ID it was my sister he was talking to.  So now I'm getting curious.

A little later on he confessed to me that he was so excited he wanted to share with me.  He talked to my sister about how to go about buying a diamond, so that he can finish the e-ring design once he has a stone to build around it.  He also told me that my sister was excited and that he would be talking to my parents soon.  I was so speechless that I could have dropped the bananas that i was holding in my hands, but that be a lot of bruised bananas to eat.  So now I'm giddy but trying to contain myself.  I need distractions, so I hope that you ladies could share with me your plans for the weekend.

Friday night I have a birthday party to attend at a dueling piano bar for a friend and then Saturday night is my bestfriend's birthday party at a Japanese tapas bar to be followed by bowling.  The remainder of the weekend I hope to get some surfing in or biking along the boardwalk.  What about you ladies?Laughing

I am trying to get the motivation to clean the house after our wedding last weekend. The place is crawling with gifts , wedding decor , random gift bags and the normal household chores as well. This weekend I am off work *shock* and DH ( omg that feels awesome!) and I are actually attending a friend's wedding on Saturday - other than that it's just all about us this weekend and trying to figure out what we are going to donate to goodwill after being truly blessed with so many gifts from our family and friends.

I know you'll find that motivation Tafft1, its always been hard for me to get started but once I do, pretty much nothing stops me till I'm done.  Very cool donating to good will, I have boxes of stuff I need to go drop off art good will too. I probably should do that this weekend as well.  Your wedding done and another wedding lined up the weekend after.  But at least now you can breathe easy that all you need to do is sit back and enjoy a wonderful time with your hubby.  Have fun!

How exciting! I love Costco and their rings... they're pretty gorgeous! I would be completely lost without Costco. I also love dueling piano bars! Sounds like you have a fun weekend planned!

We're going to the horse races/microbrew fest/free concert on Saturday and repairing our fence on Sunday and Monday with the help of the bf's parents.Well, the guys are fixing the fence and us woman are attempting to choose tile for the entryway, hallway and laundry room... Oh the joys of home-ownership

If DH could spend all his time at Costco , he would , lol ;) Never fails he MUST stop by the video games and electronics sections no matter what , in all fairness I drag him around all the household stuff and daydream of the things we can have for our home someday too.

That anticipation stage is great in a maddening way.  Enjoy it.  Trust me you'll miss it.  I believe Jeana said that once.  At the time I remember thinking she was crazy.  Then I realized wise Jeana was correct.

P.S.  Tafft, if you find that motivation, send some my way please.

I am bemused at the fact that I can walk into Cosco with the idea that I am buying two to three things that the house needs and I walk out spending $100 + its like "really?!" hahaha always something else that is needed.  For instance I am not a mayo person but BF saw a three pack of mayo at Cosco and wanted to buy it cause one bottle in the store was already almost $4 and so at Cosco we can get 3 for $7.50.  But I do admit there are A LOT of things in there I would love to get from food to housewares.

Tafft1 I can only imagine a house filled with  boxes, wrapping paper, bubble wrap and gifts and somewhere in there is you, and the kitties.  Reminds me of an old I love Lucy episode.  Haha... I only had enough motivation last night to vacuum the apt.  I couldn't stand walking and encountering small particles on the floor.  I have an OCD about having a clean floor to walk on.  I can't wait for the dueling piano bar.

As for the waiting game, I am getting a handle on that.  It was a trip to hear him say the word fiancé yesterday night when referencing about how he was excited about me being his future fiancé.  But I am keeping a level head or at least trying.  More DISTRACTIONS please!  Thanks!!!!!

Nothing is better than Costco! They have really nice jewellery there as well.

Actually, the china I'm in love with is there. It has a Medusa pattern on it and I practically swoon every time I see it.

We have a Cosco here, but I have a Sam's Club membership instead - I went to Cosco with a friend once and thought they were pretty much the same.

Want some distractions?  FI and I are planning to start our registry early next week (my mom is coming along to help me keep FI in lineWink).  I actually put 2 things on it online yesterday (things we'd already talked about and I didn't want to forget them).  I've started making a list of things, but I'm always up for suggestions as to what others would want to put on their list...we're registering at Bed Bath & Beyond and at Target (just starting BB&B this week).

Enjoy the anticipation, it was nerve wracking, but a time I definitely wouldn't give up.

I think we are doing dinner with some friends tomorrow night, then BF is getting LASIK on Saturday.  That's pretty much our whole weekend...

It's okay though, we are saving up our money because we leave for Hawaii in TWO WEEKS!!

Nothing too exciting this weekend, we gotta rest up for the week ahead. The biggest plan is to get BF's bedroom packed for the Big Move on Wednesday!

    Moto! That is freakin exciting...

Back to distraction though: I work all weekend, which sucks, and is not very distracting for you.

Jemmini - Your trip is so close you can almost start packing!

Bsidebella-moving is always a strenuous task.  I just moved three months ago and still settling in.

Jemmini- Jealous, I would love to go back to Hawaii this year.

Breezerb-thanks! I am feeling giddy.  Sorry to hear you have to work this weekend.

I know, it's awful  />_<  But I'm ready for it! After moving out of my home of 17 years and now dividing my time between Mom's couch and my boyfriend's, I'm itching to have my own place! (IN 6 DAYS! OH EM GEE!)
