the return to work suuuuucks doesn't it?

We are starting the house buying process and I've begun stalking houses on Trulia.  I already have the paint colors picked out for one of the houses....

Morning!  Tuesdays are always such blah days.  I have to admit, I love these cool mornings.  Fall is just around the corner.  As it our wedding!!  25 days,  and counting.
  • edited December 2011
I am also loving the cool mornings. And am pumped for the fall season!

    Boo Tuesdays.

Amer - where are you looking for houses? I'm kinda jealous. Sometimes I wish I could up and move and start over again in a new house/neighborhood every couple years. Then I think about the actual moving process and I change my mind...

    Mmmm pumpkin coffee...

I really do love the fall - the colors and the smells. Looking forward to burning some yummy pumpkin spice candles. And hopefully getting some use out of our new fire pit out back.

Madam-  we are looking in King Of Prussia.  I need to be close to the Turnpike and JEGs needs to use 202 to get to work.  Anything that gets us OUT of Norristown.  I hate this craptastic town.

Fall is by. far. my favorite season!  I originally wanted an October wedding, sooo badly.  When I started calling venues,  everything was booked!  I couldn't believe it-- I guess because it's the whole 10/--/10 thing..

Anyway.. I want pumpkin bread now.

yum, i've never had pumpkin coffee. I'll had to add this to my list for fall

Once again Septa failed us this morning haha  Amtrak is having power line issues so so our train was stopped at North Broad and the conductors are like 'uhh, yea service is suspended so everyone needs to get off.'  Like- sucks if this isn't your stop! good luck finding your way! haha So like 150 people loaded into North Broad subway, and there was hysteria with people who had no idea where they were going (luckily I did) or what to do. yikes. Took the subway to city hall and then walked the rest of the way.  All that def woke me up though :-P

I just hope service is back on by 5 or else FI is gonna have to drive to come get me

Pumpkin anything = yum.  I also love Fall, hence the October wedding.  We just bought our liquor and decided to also offer Sam Adams Octoberfest beer, so I'm strangely excited about that.  As it gets closer and the weather gets cooler, I am wondering if I should have done more "Fallish" colors for our bouquets.  We are doing just whites, ivories and mine will have some pale green hydrangea.

    Good morning!

I also was really excited about the weather this morning. I LOVE fall and can't wait!!!  Also a big fan of the pumpkin spice latte.  Sigh...happiness....

Today was FI's second day on the job and second day taking the train.....and Septa failed big time!!!  He was so upset that he'd be late on his second day. He also took the subway to city hall, but I think he cabbed it to work after that.  I hope he doesn't quit becuase he hates the commute.

Amer - I am also jealous.  We decided a few months ago to wait another year before buying something (so maybe 2012).  But our townhouse/apartment is getting SO small and I'm getting really sick of it.  We haven't even been there a year!  I am starting to notice for sale signs and getting antsy.  What is this website?  I might be able to convince FI to start looking sooner.

MH - I will email you.

Jester- yeah, we really like the KOP.  We started looking in Plymouth Meeting, Norristown, Conshy, Bridgeport first, but you really can't beat the location and the taxes in KOP.  Plus the school district is waaaaaaay better then Norristown.

It's a sin because architecturally and location-wise,  Norristown is perfect.  It has beautiful homes- craftsman style (my fav), Victorian Era AND 1950s Ranchers.  But just the taxes are out of this world, and for what?  A crappy school district and the fear your neighborhood might go south in 5 years?  Ugh.  No thank you.

Sorry.  That was more then I expected.

Amer- I don't blame you for not liking Norristown. FI and I drive through there to go to IKEA and I am just like EWE when I drive through there.  I bet there are some nice parts (like the one I hope you live in) but it just looks so crappy there.

We looked at apts in norristown first and there were some really nice new buildings, but I wasn't crazy about the area.

Cara, I believe it's Upper Merion.   I totally know how you feel about the apartment getting smaller--- you saw how little space I have!  haha

I'm obsessed with Trulia.  I'm on it all. the. time.

This may be my new obsession if I get sucked in. Which I will. I LOVE your apartment!  Especially that killer walk-in closet of yours!  Ours isn't much bigger, even though its two floors.  Its just getting smaller and smaller.  Plus our cats are such an issue, I feel like every room is full of litter and poop. :-(  I like the area though.

    Morning everyone.

I love this weather for one reason and one reason only, and it is going to sound crazy.  I am thanking God it is cooling off, because one of the biggest fears/dreads I was having about my wedding day was sweating in my dress underneath.  Yeah, like, that's what my wedding nightmares are about- in the dream, I sweat so much that I soak the entire skirt and train of my dress, and then can't move because it's so heavy, and people start to make fun of me.

So, if nothing else, I am glad for breezes and cooler weather for that reason :)

OMG I want to make pumpkin bread now!  I hoarded some canned pumpkin from last year, it's difficult to get here.  I might make some.
  • edited December 2011
I don't really eat things seasonally, I make them as I want them. Like I eat chili all year, or stew and soups. I just started eating Cream of Wheat for breakfast this week. I wanted it so I made it. :) I love love love pumpkin bread, NCV.  I might have to learn to make it from scratch, not from the Pillsbury box.

MBR - Sweating was my biggest fear too!  Between the dress, the excitement, the humidity... I was so afraid I was going to be a sweaty mess and not be able to hug anyone (I hate hugs when I'm sticky!).  I hope you have a cool day with lots of sunshine!!!
  • edited December 2011
Hil, thank you for saying that.  I thought I was the only one out there who had that fear, and I felt totally bonkers in the head for even thinking it, let alone saying it.

Thanks, I hope it is cool too!  My biggest thing is the sweat that rolls, if ya know what I mean.  I think I am actually going to invest in the spanx with legs so that there is something for the sweat to catch onto.

I apologize for the disgusting rating of nasty in my posts.  I know all of you just wanted to hear about sweating on your wedding day.

I am glad I am not getting married in the warmer months. I swear my pits just sweat for no reason at all. I don't mind talking about sweat. I really need to start using Certain Dry...

I have the stupid fear that my wedding is going to look stupid! I keep thinking everything I am buying is going to look stupid together. I know if it does look stupid my DOC will not let it look that way. But I just have too much time to think right now. ugh

Morning. Jeez, I missed a lot. Tuesdays are def. a blah day. It doesn't help that I'm waiting for IT to fix my printer that they supposedly fixed yesterday (took them 2 hours and 15 minutes). So instead of doing what I need to I'm slowly decorating my office.

I can't wait for Fall, I get to do engagement photos, celebrate Mabon (Fall Equinox), Samhain (Halloween) and attempt to not eat too much pumpkin bread or drink too many of the Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Lattes (which I also LOVE!)

Amer- I know exactly what you mean about Norristown. So - good luck finding a place in KOP! I'd suggest looking into Blue Bell, b/c the school districts are rather nice, but the construction along 202 and to get to the turnpike give me migraines just thinking about it.

B2B baking quick breads from scratch isn't that much harder then a box.  Really.
