Re: The 19 Days of Harry Potter: 14 Days to Go!

  • No
    Maybe
    No
    Yes, and it's awesome.

I'm not so much of a geek about it really. But I think I've bought every video game made for the movies, even though they're not usually all that great. They're just fun to play because I love the story.
  • In Response to The 19 Days of Harry Potter: 14 Days to Go!:
What HP memorabilia do you have?
My home office is almost completely Potterfied. In my office you will find:
-Collector's editions of all books for which a CE is available.
-A shelf-full of foreign edition copies of Book 1
-A Collector's edition of The Tales of Beedle the Bard
    -Replica wands (Harry's, Hermione's and Dumbledore's)
    -A Hogwarts Express/Platform 9 3/4 plaque
    -Several lego sets
    -Does my Ravenclaw tatoo count?
-A set of Hogwarts House bookmarks
Oh, there's more... maybe I'll take a picture of my office and post it some other time

Have you/will you visit the Wizarding World Of Harry Potter?
Yes! Bought my tickets next week! We leave for Orlando on 11/30, spending four days at Disney and one day at WWoHP! Am I excited? Oh, only INCREDIBLY

Do you dress up to see the movies?
Believe it or not, no I don't.

Have you bought Lego's Harry Potter video game?
I did, but not for myself. I gave it to my nephew for his birthday.

Anything else you would like to share? Let your Harry Potter geek out for the internet world to see!
Yeah, I don't hide it anyway, so there's not much else to say...

  • What HP memorabilia do you have? I don't own anything.

Have you/will you visit the Wizarding World Of Harry Potter? I wish I could say yes, but I don't think my H is big on Disney world at all. And I think he would rather walk across hot coals than go to WWoHP. Sigh.

Do you dress up to see the movies? I do not.

Have you bought Lego's Harry Potter video game? Yes. H and I already beat it and collected all the goodies! I'm going to give it a few months, then we'll probably start a new game and do the whole thing over again.

Anything else you would like to share? Not really. I think I'm enough of a geek for starting these threads in the first place.

  • What HP memorabilia do you have? My only real memorabilia is the Gryffindor work lanyard that I bought at WWoHP. I wanted to buy more stuff, but I restrained myself. Oh, and I have a butterbeer mug.
Have you/will you visit the Wizarding World Of Harry Potter? I think we all know the answer to this question.
Do you dress up to see the movies? No.
Have you bought Lego's Harry Potter video game? It's on my Christmas list thanks to Opal (she told me about it)!!
Anything else you would like to share? The only thing holding me back from naming my kids Harry and Hermione are the fact that they'd get teased mercilessly.

Oh, and besides my husband, y'all bear the brunt of my HP geek outs. Nobody else knows the TRUE extent of my love for HP.

  • Oh! And I'm waiting for all the movies to come out and then I'll buy the boxed set. And I also want a boxed set of books, or maybe I'll just buy the first four in hardback (I only have them in paperback).

And I also have Tales of Beetle the Bard, but it's not a CE.

My kids WILL be exposed to HP. Hardcore.

  • OH! I have one other piece of memorabilia worth mentioning: a bit of owl post some loverly Eener sent to me from WWoHP. It's on my fridge.
  • What HP memorabilia do you have?
    None except books and movies.
Have you/will you visit the Wizarding World Of Harry Potter?
I would love to, but I don't have a trip specifically planned.
Do you dress up to see the movies?
I have before but son't this time.
Have you bought Lego's Harry Potter video game?
No! I wanted to rent it last time we were at Blockbuster, but it was gone. Next time it's there though, I'm renting it.
Anything else you would like to share?
In case you were not aware, HP comes out a day earlier in Chile than in the US. I discovered this last night. I am so excited.
  • What HP memorabilia do you have? Just the books.  I looove books.

Have you/will you visit the Wizarding World Of Harry Potter? I want to, yes!

Do you dress up to see the movies?  Uh, no.

Have you bought Lego's Harry Potter video game? Uh, no.

Anything else you would like to share? I like Harry Potter a lot, but I'm not really into the whole "let's get INSIDE this world and dress up sort of thing."  However, if I have kids that want to do that, then more power to them.  I'll indulge them.
  • What HP memorabilia do you have?  just the books
Have you/will you visit the Wizarding World Of Harry Potter?  possibly
Do you dress up to see the movies?  no
Have you bought Lego's Harry Potter video game? nope
Anything else you would like to share? I really hope Emily has pictures of her dressed up for the movies :)

  • To my knowledge it was only available in the musuem shop during the tour of the exhibit.  I got mine at Boston's Museum of Science.

My sister looked online and such and couldn't find it.

  • What HP memorabilia do you have?
I'm sad to report that I have none :(

Have you/will you visit the Wizarding World Of Harry Potter?
    We're planning on summer 2012.

Do you dress up to see the movies?
    nope

Have you bought Lego's Harry Potter video game?
    yes, and it's amazing

Anything else you would like to share?
I have a crush on Harry Potter.  Not Daniel Radcliffe.  I wasn't quite able to discern the difference until I went to see him on Broadway in Equus, though.  I saw his wee bits, and determined that it is the fictional character that holds my heart.  (It wasn't the bits that brought upon the realization...I feel like I need to clarify that.  He performed tremendously well, but my heart neither pittered nor pattered.  I'm reasonably certain it was because there was no wand involved.  Magic is sexy).

  • Manda, you could buy an actual Marauder's Map for I think $50 at WWoHP. They're available at the end of the Forbidden Journey in the Hogwart's gift shop.
  • kj, I would love you forever and totally pay you back with interest!

cfaz- good find. I've already sent an email to my husband.

GB- 24 days, my friend. 24 days.

I hadn't seen that one before - mine works the same way only it starts out black and when it gets hot - an image of the Marauder's Map shows up.

  • Manda - here is the link to the HP Exhibition Website.  I couldn't find a "gifts" link, but perhaps you can sign up for the email notifications to find out when it will be back on the East Coast.

Unless you want to trek out to Seattle anytime soon.

  • What HP memorabilia do you have? The books, and I just bought an awesome Ravenclaw T-shirt from Hot Topic - finally, they realize that there are other houses besides Gryffindor and Slytherin (still no Hufflepuff though)
Have you/will you visit the Wizarding World Of Harry Potter? Nah. I don't do theme parks - too expensive.
Do you dress up to see the movies? Not really. Charlie sometimes wears a cape for some reason.
Have you bought Lego's Harry Potter video game? Nah, I don't do the video games either.
Anything else you would like to share? I think that about covers it. I'm really happy about the Ravenclaw shirt (currently wearing it).

The books, the movies, a Ravenclaw t-shirt and lanyard, and a Slytherin beer stein

I went with a group of librarian friends in September and I felt like a 12 year-old girl. I was beside myself I was so excited! It was COMPLETELY worth the money.

Do you dress up to see the movies?
No, but I went as Harry Potter for Halloween last year.

Have you bought Lego's Harry Potter video game?
    Nope.

Anything else you would like to share?

Wouldn't it be nice to live together in the kind of world where we belong?
  • Jumping in, if that's ok, because I'm SO FREAKING EXCITED about the movie coming out!

What HP memorabilia do you have?
All the books, The Tales of Beedle the Bard, Quidditch Throughout the Ages, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Ravenclaw Scarf (I'm so glad it's cold enough to finally wear it! I bought it in the summer when we went to WWoHP), Ravenclaw Patch (haven't found anything to put it on, though), Honeydukes Candy Jar, Chocolate Frog (I got the Rowena Ravenclaw card :D), a wand (I got picked for the Ollivander's demonstration, so I had to. Willow, 8 inches, with Unicorn Hair core, according to Ollivander.) I think that's everything...

Have you/will you visit the Wizarding World Of Harry Potter?
YES!! FI proposed in Disney World, so on the last day of our trip, we went to Universal instead and spent the entire day in the WWoHP part of the park. Oh man....it was awesome. And the Durmstrang guys were pretty cute. BEWARE of going in the summer though, because we went the first week of August, and it was freaking HOT! It's kind of strange to see all of Hogsmeade covered in snow when you've got sweat dripping down past your knees...

Do you dress up to see the movies?
I didn't for the first couple of movies, but I did for 5, 6, the release of Book 7, and I probably will for the last movies. I'm usually just a nondescript Ravenclaw, but this year FI and I might go as Remus and Tonks.

Have you bought Lego's Harry Potter video game?
I didn't, because I don't have the right console, but I watched FI play on his Xbox and occasionally played 2nd player with him. I was amazed at how good it was.

Anything else you would like to share?

I'm such a huge Harry Potter dork. I can't help it. It's like crack. But y'all probably know that already.
