Re: Say Anything Wednesday

My husband is irritating me today and I'm not in the mood to put up with it.

I need a new job.  Pronto.  And I don't want to wait and hope I get a teaching job.  I'll take a change of scenery.

I don't want to go to Houston on this darn trip. Such a waste of time!

Watched Men's Figure Skating last night--I forgot how much I missed that sport (former dream and obsession of mine)

Anyone see Stephane Lambiel or Brian Joubert--so pretty! It makes me wish Jay was a figure skater...I'm serious

I just want to thank all the knotties that gave me puppy advice yesterday. Ollie slept 7 hours strait last night! He did cry for 2 hours before he finally fell asleep, but he slept all night in his kennel and I was able to sleep all night too!! Thank you ladies for your advice. That's why I love ya'll so much.

Mariah, I feel the same way as you. I'd love a change in scenery. I just have to wait till September when our apartment lease is up. Once it's up, we're heading to Austin to be closer to my parents!!

I didn't get to watch last night since I was at basketball but I'm hoping to go home a little early and catch up.

Last night was the big basketball game against our district rival.  If I had a son who was going to play at that high school, I wouldn't let him play.  He yells at every one as if they are the biggest mistake on the planet and acts like his kids can do no wrong (unless he's yelling at the them of course).  His own son kicked at one of our boys after he fouled our player.  Supreme jerk (I would say worse).  I hope he gets a job soon at some other school.

I finished all my projects last week, so I have nothing do at work this week except play on the internet. At least the heater is working now, the boiler was broken the last two days and it was freezing in here.

I enjoyed the men's skating last night, but I also really liked watching the snowboarding. I felt bad for Lindsey Jacobellis.

I just found out that our personal trainer in Dallas is pregnant. I'm very happy for her! But, I kinda hope she plans on training through her pregnancy, because Courts and I were just talking two days ago about starting up training with her again.

I have found babysitters for 5 kids and also politely let a co-worker know she is not invited to the wedding. Confrontation avoided so far! Now just have to finish programs and make last minute meetings with vendors. Only a month away!

I went to my hubby's students' voice recital last night and actually wasn't miserable.  Even though some of those kids are lazy and can't memorize one song in 3 months, they are sounding just fine. I was glad they showed up and decided to do a good job so that my hubby looks like the great teacher that he is.

Also...and Julie this is in your district so you know what I mean...I was AMAZED at how these kids were dressed and that some of them were carrying VERSACE purses.  What high school senior needs a Versace purse??

Anna: glad you are warming up.  The fan just broke on our heater and the building claims there is nothing they can do about it right now.  So, it's freezing.  Brr..  My window faces the west, so it will be better this afternoon.

Im starting to wonder if having a photo booth will be enough of a "favor" for the guests at our wedding.

But Im not sure what in addition I could do that wouldn't be too costly.
  • edited December 2011
You don't have to have favors.  Photobooth is good enough.

Ditto Mariah 100%.  When I look back and see how much time and money I spent on favors, I literally shudder.

I'm rocking and rolling on wedding stuff. As of last night we have all the details finalized with our venue which is a huge relief.  Also, I'm booking the florist today, my dress fitting was amazing and my dress needs no alterations at all, and my shoes weren't too tall so I don't have to look for any more.

    I'm so excited!

I LOVED my favors; definitey in the top 5 favorite things at my wedding. :)

I'm going to Houston tomorrow for a few days of down time with my sister and am very excited about it.

Today is one of my favorite religious holidays, Lent. Looking forward to attending mass at noon today.

I smashed my hand when trying to replace the water cooler bottle, and now it's swollen.  WTF?  These things only happen to me.

This is the first of my last two weeks left at my job. I've decided to go get my teaching certification. I've stayed an extra two weeks on top of my two weeks notice I gave them to train someone for my position. They are now just bringing in people to interview, today. Way to give me a week to train someone. =/ And it is really really weird for me to see these people come in. I'm still trying to get used to it.

I think I might take a part time job at the Dillard's in Denton at Clinique. I used to work there during college and I loved working for Clinique. However, now that I live in Lewisville, I'd hate to make that drive. But it's only temporary so I'm trying to talk myself into it. We just can't afford for me not to have a job while doing my certification.

    Any advice?

amb- There is a Clinique at Dillard's and Macy's at Vista Ridge Mall in Lewisville.  Would that not be easier for you?

    Mandy,
What age?  I know that some of our sixth graders carry around Coach purses.  I have an 8th grader with tons of Juicy stuff.  I know it's not as expensive but some of these kids come with all the latest stuff and I just shudder at giving a 14 year old girl some of that stuff.

PS:  I have to wonder if some of them are my 8th graders--they are so lazy!!!!!  Especially from one school in particular.....

I also have to laugh because I got a fake LV trunk bag (canvas) a couple of years ago and one of my kids asked how much teachers were getting paid now.

I made room in our guest room closet to store all the wedding stuff, so now we can actually have people over for dinner and use our dining room.

I was a little ticked this morning because I made dinner last night, and Chris forgot to put away the left overs so they sat out all night.

I wish our apartment complex would let us know when a package has come for us. For things that don't have a tracking number, it's a guess and check thing with the office.

Sometimes I feel weird posting baby/pregnant related news on this site, since clearly it isn't for that, but The Bump/Nest sites are not welcoming or friendly.
  • edited December 2011
Emi, we want to hear your baby/pregnant news. I know I'm interested in hearing about it. Can't believe the Bump/Nest people are being booties!

    Mandy,
I'm glad they performed better than expected.  :-)  Hopefully the parents are paying Michael buckets of money!

Thanks girls!! That makes me feel better.

I'm on the hunt for bedding right now and like weddings, it is an expensive market.
  • edited December 2011
Bedding for you room? I'm on the same hunt. I found a couple I like online at K-Mart.
So far, this one is my favorite. And it's only $80 and comes with everything!

Emi - I don't know how you feel about craigslist, but a few weeks ago there was some nice looking baby furniture on there.

I'm taking a pregnancy test in the morning.
  • edited December 2011

Stephie, I'm not sure if you're excited about this or not, but my heart jumped when I read this. I'll keep you in my prayers :-)

I took a test last week. It was negative, sadly.

I have not been able to shake this terrible mood I'm in all day.  I seriously think I need a swift kick in my a$$ to get in a better mood.  Maybe I just need to sweat it out at the gym.  I'm just pissed at everybody for some reason.
  • edited December 2011
No, not bedding for me. I'm done with all that for now.

Bedding for my nursery. And thanks about the furniture, but we're good there too. I'm just super picky and its hard to determine when we will probably be living in a different house when the baby gets here!

Great news Steph - good luck!
