BMs in different area codes!!!

My bridesmaids and I all live in different area codes. Our problem is trying to get 11 women to come to one location to look for dresses.  How should I go about finding these dresses without all of them trying on dresses?

BTW...we have several different body types (full bust, full hips, skinny, thick, short and tall).  HELP....I don't have a clue on how to proceed?!

Re: BMs in different area codes!!!

  • That sounds like a wonderful idea.  Thanks so much!!

[QUOTE]You'll drive yourself nuts if you keep trying to get all 11 together at once. I went shopping with 2 of my girls and we narrowed it down to 3 dresses.  I picked my top choice and emailed it out to the rest of the girls with a store name/location where they could try it on in their area. After they all tried it on, we placed the order. You cold also pick a designer/color/length and tell each girl to get a dress that fits her body type within the guidelines you've set.

  • I have six bridesmaids in a total of of six different cities and three different states. Between that and different body types, I pretty much gave up on shopping with everyone together or having them all in the same dress. So I gave them the color and length (and they actually voted on the length themselves), and turned them loose. DB is the bomb diggity for this sort of thing, especially if your ladies are on a budget - there are a lot of options and the dresses are affordable. Ultimately I got to go shopping with four out of the six, but not all at the same time. The other two shopped on their own and sent me pictures of what they picked. The results are in my sig - only 5 dresses because 2 girls actually picked the same one! I'd highly recommend this option, especially since you have such a large WP...it took a whole lot of stress off both me and the girls.

  • I'd do as pp's suggested and pick a designer (i.e. David's Bridal, Alfred Angelo, or whatever is in their price range), a length, and a particular color, and let them choose whatever they want.  Those who want to make sure noone else is wearing the same dress might want to pick last!  Depending how picky you are about the colors being exactly the same you could also send each of them a swatch for them to match as closely as possible (David's Bridal swatches are only a dollar or two) and they could shop wherever they wanted.  If you're not opposed to black you could simplify by having them wear little black dresses and then it would be something they could likely use again, and they could also shop at different places with less variation in the color.
Whoever said it was supposed to be happily ever after is a big fat liar.
  • All three of my BM live in different states. David's Bridal is the only store where my sister lives so they all went and tried on different dresses and just picked the same dress. I was very surprised...I didn't think they would like the same one, but they did. They all ordered their dresses where they live so they could have them fitted.
    It worked out really well.

  • I have a size 2 and a size 14. No boobs big boobs. I understand it's hard I went for a Satin long gown that half fitted then flares.
