Vintage Brides - What's your jewelry?

Hi brides:

I'm going for the vitage look - but have not quite found a jewelry style that I'm in love with. Ideas? Suggestions?

Any good places to buy?

Thanks!

Re: Vintage Brides - What's your jewelry?

  • I think that the vintage look is more with the vale, makeup and hair. But I would look on Etsy.com There is tons of stuff there something might catch your eye

  • I found my earrings at a jewelry kiosk in a local mall. It was just a big booth with a bunch of costume-type jewelry.

I'm doing these pretty huge earrings only. No necklace, hair accessories, or bracelet.

I agree with previous poster... hair /make - up / veil will really help pull together a vintage look for a bride, though.

I've got earrings in a very similar style to those shownabove that were from a place called Cheline on Amazon. They arrived really fast and are very old-Hollywood sort of things, they go freakin awesomely with  my mermaid style dress. As mentioned, the white/gold or platinum looks dripping with jewels has the vintage feel. I'm also wearing my  mother's platinum and diamonds bracelet, and it's got a vintagey feel to it, as well.
Here's the link to what mine look like:

I love how it has in ALL SCREAMING CAPS how they're BEAUTIFUL PEAR DROP shaped earrings, just so you don't forget how they look.

  • I am going for the same look.  I haven't purchased anything yet, but am thinking dangle earrings, but not as much as in the picture above.  I am going more of the pearl route since my dress is busy.  I am going to also get a wide pearl bracelet & use a broach that matches my dress bilng on the bracelet.  Hope this helps.  Thanks for the above links.
  • Etsy seller Lulusplender ( http://www.etsy.com/shop/Lulusplendor?ga_search_query=lulusplendor&ga_search_type=seller_usernames ) has a very vintage style and uses vintage pieces in her jewelry.  I got my necklace and earrings from her.  She is a little pricey, but very worth it. I  LOVE the pieces I got from her.
  • It depends on what you mean by "vintage." 30s or 40s? Go total art deco, chandelier earrings, etc. Cameos are timeless and beautiful. You could even get a lavelliere. :) 50s, I'd go with classic pearls or something. It's been mentioned before, but Etsy is an amazing site.
