  You might try the Gateway Hotel and Reiman Gardens. Also if you go here (the website for the Ames Convention and Visitors Bureau): http://www.visitames.com/planners/conference_event_facilities.aspx, you will find several suggestions for places in and around Ames. Good Luck!

  The Iowa State Alumni association has a beautiful ballroom that holds quite a few people.
