Father of the Bride's Tux

Hey all

We just picked out tuxes for the groom and groomsmen.  Then my Dad said he wants to be included in the tux rentals, too.  Should he be the same as the rest of the groomsmen?  The same as groom?  A hybrid of the two?  Something different?

opinions?

Thanks!!

You could have him match the groomsmen if you want to,it all depends on what you/he want.I wanted my Dad to stand out just a little so while the groomsmen all wore black i had my Dad wear a dark Gray

yes, he should be included in the tux rentals, as should the father of the groom.  However, IMO, what they wear is up to them.   I just let them pick out their own tuxes, vests, ties etc.   The father's don't need to match anyone.

My father and FIL wore tuxes.  They guys wore a very dark silver and my husband wore ivory.  I put the dads in classic black and white.  The colors to my wedding were black and white though.  They can really where whatever you want them to. I personally would have them be alittle different than your grooms men and def not the same as your FI.

My dad decided he wanted to be different and got a Calvin Klein tux and silver vest instead of the MW brand tux and black vest.

My dad, FIL and grandpa all rented tuxes.  Everyone wore black tuxes, but I think theirs were different from DH and the GM.  Honestly, I can't even tell you what they wore other than the fact that they were black tuxes so I guess that's how big of a difference it will be down the road :)

    Thanks, Ladies.

My FFIL opted out of wearing a tux - he bought a new suit instead.  His choice completely.

As for my Dad, I think I'll try a hybrid of the two we've already picked out.  I do want him to stand out from the rest of the men and still be different that my FI

    Thanks for all your thoughts!

We went to Men's' warehouse for all. FI is in a higher end black tux with silver dress. We chose a lesser expensive tux for the groomsmen and charcoal vests. And the dads and my grandpa will be in basic black with black vest tux.We didn't specify with tux for them. We said they could get what ever they want. Just wanted them to have a black vest.

My dad had a silver vest color, the guys had red, my hubby had black.  My husband went with my father (but not the rest of the guys) because he thought my dad would be uncomfortable with them.
