My fiance and I are paying for our wedding ourselves, and trying to save money. I read an article on cost-saving and one thing they suggested was skipping the reception favors, since most of them get tossed anyway when people are home. I can totally agree with that because I have done it myself. Is it rude to not have any party favors? I was thinking of doing a candy table with little bags they can fill and take home as favors, but then I don't want to get stuck with too much afterwards if guests don't take anything home. Is it wrong to do away with that?

I agree with the other ladies in that favors are not a requirement. However, the candy table idea is adorable and fun. I have heard from relatives and friends that went the candy table route that they were stuck with so many left overs that they ended up packaging them and saving it for Halloween to hand out to the trick-or-treaters! Keep in mind, none of these weddings were in the fall, so that's a long time to hold on to un-used candy. Best of luck!
