Since it's only 9pm, and my FI is laying on the couch next to me asleep, i thought i would start a survey/poll thingy.

1) how long will you and your FI have been together when you get married?
2) if you had unlimited funds to spend on a wedding only, what would you do/change?
3) have you and your FI done things out of order? ex. lived together, kids, bought a house, etc?
4) when you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

1) how long will you and your FI have been together when you get married?'
5 years, 9 months exactly.

2) if you had unlimited funds to spend on a wedding only, what would you do/change?
i would fly everyone we love to Mexico and get married on the beach, barefoot.

3) have you and your FI done things out of order? ex. lived together, kids, bought a house, etc?
we bought a house in November... and we have 2 wiener babies (dachshunds)... Charlie & Diesel. I swear, buying a house was the most stressful thing we have ever done. I think 2 people should go through that before they get married. we've also lived together for 4 years.

4) when you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A Marine Biologist

5) what do you do now?
I work for a Beer Wholesaler/Distributor in the sales department. I love my job.

6) say something about you that we would be surprised to know about you?
My Mom & Stepdad own a wine store, my brother works for a wine distributor, and I work for a beer distributor. Oh, and a few times a year I help out at a friend's winery events, either pouring/educating people about the wine, or bottling. I may work in beer, but I'm a total wine snob. and FI may be an even worse of a wine snob than me, and he hated wine up until a few years ago.

Over 7 years
2) if you had unlimited funds to spend on a wedding only, what would you do/change?
If I had unlimited funds, I would do a small destination wedding at a beautiful resort and fly our closest family and friends to the ceremony and put them up in amazing rooms.
3) have you and your FI done things out of order? ex. lived together, kids, bought a house, etc?
We (well I) bought a house and we've lived together for several years, but I put my foot down on no kids 'til we're married. Hence, we're getting married! : )
*edit: and we have a dog that is our baby
4) when you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
When I was younger I wanted to be an architect or an FBI agent, but I've wanted to be a lawyer at least since high school...and I am.
5) what do you do now?
I'm an attorney. A public defender to be exact.
6) say something about you that we would be surprised to know about you?
I did beauty pageants when I was little (like 5). More recently, I was second-chair on a murder trial, twice actually.

I'd probably hire a full on planner to do all of the vendor booking & logistical stuff.

Yes, he moved in with me when we'd only been dating 4 or 5 months! It was a totally crazy circumstantial thing that I thought I'd never do, but here we are... Oh, we also bought a car together too.
4) when you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

A horse trainer

Train children instead
6) say something about you that we would be surprised to know about you?

Well, since this is the internets and we're mostly all strangers... I could say anything! I guess people are often surprised when I say I had my tongue pierced when I was in college. People tell me I don't look like the type to do that. *shrug*

2) if you had unlimited funds to spend on a wedding only, what would you do/change? Pay for FILs to be able to stay at a nicer hotel and their flights, have a nicer RD, and pay for more of the WP expenses.
3) have you and your FI done things out of order? ex. lived together, kids, bought a house, etc? Yup. Lived together for 4 years, bought a house 2 years ago (but only after he proposed!)
4) when you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? I wanted to be a Marine Biologist too! I LOVE dolphins and really wanted to work with them.
5) what do you do now? Depends on the day and time of day.

Technically I'm a fuel specialist. Sounds fancier than it is. I work for a company that owns a lot of gas stations and do various things from making sure fuel loads are scheduled to inputting incidents and other administrative stuff.
6) say something about you that we would be surprised to know about you? I love cars. Seriously. I look forward to the auto show every fall to see the new models. Grew up around cars as my dad would work on them. FI is teaching me about motorcycles and I've started to ride my own.

Same thing - Fly my friends and family to a beach and get married!

We moved in together after 6 months and he adopted my lil one... Spike!

A quarterback in the NFL...

I am an Ophthalmic Technician - kind of like a nurse for eyes!

Hmmm... I had 6 different majors in college? I went from photography, music and ended up in biology!

I would invite all of the friends/family that we weren't able to invite, more time on the photobooth, pay for my BP hotel room. OH! And I would get married at http://navypier.com/events/event_space/venues.html Navy Pier Grand Ballroom.

2) if you had unlimited funds to spend on a wedding only, what would you do/change? unlimited funds? i wish i had enough money to make time would stop, so i had more time. more time to plan, more time for DIY, and most importantly, more time to boogie with my guests.
3) have you and your FI done things out of order? ex. lived together, kids, bought a house, etc? we consumated our marriage before we were married??? hahahahah... but um. we bought a house.. we didn't plan on living in it until the wedding, but we couldn't help it..so we slept in seperate rooms until the wedding 2 months later.
4) when you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? a big time singer/pop star/asian country music superstar
5) what do you do now? polar opposite of that. desk job.
6) say something about you that we would be surprised to know about you? i'm not really as pretty-pretty-princess as you would think......(as i type this in pink). i like hard-core camping, hiking, and gettin dirrrrty. i like extreme sports, and also am really actually quite frugal (coupon shopper here).

5) what do you do now? Babysitting a one-year old (its a transition job, i was a social worker bfre this)

I am planning on building a mini farm in the backyard (bunnies and chickens) once I am through with this wedding planning nonsense

A photo booth, that's all that I can think of right now

FI owned "our" house before we ever met, we moved in together after about three months (I knew him for about a year before we started dating). We have two fur babies, but no real babies until after the wedding.
4) When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A stay at home mom and a chef.
5) What do you do now?
I'm a stay at home fiance, so my job is to cook, clean, and do laundry.
6) Say something about you that we would be surprised to know about you?
Hmmm, I'll go along the same lines as jennyann, I have nine tattoos.

I'd fly everyone here to washington, or rent hotels for everyone so we could get married in new orleans

we have been living together now for a while

it varied between an actress, the flying nun and wonder woman

I am a singer for a steampunk band, a bellydancer and a promotions person for a freinds band

I play the accordian and consider it the worlds most perfect instrument

tygirl- i'm pretty sure we could be bff's. LOL. My whole "plan" was to go to San Diego State, then go to grad school at Scripps, then work for Seaworld as a scientist, and also train the orcas.

Oh how things change. LOL! AND- my FI is big into big trucks/motorcycles/dirtbikes, etc... we used to always go riding our quads and dirtbikes until a couple years ago, when we just didnt have enough time to do it anymore. FI and I are talking about getting me a motorcycle so we can go together, but I do better on 4 wheels than 2.

i love this poll! i think we should do more "get to know you" polls.

I think that I would fly more family in and definitely hire a planner to take care of some of the little things.

We both have kids from a previous marriage and we have lived together for 2.5 years

Legally: 8 years, 9 months, 5 days
Pretty /Pretty/ Princess Day: 9 years 9 months and 6 days (See, I got it right this time. I think.)

2) if you had unlimited funds to spend on a wedding only, what would you do/change?

I'd fly everyone out here and pay for all their hotel rooms as well as do the Harry Potter movie premiere thing I wanted to do. Probably get a day long shuttle service from the airport to the hotel so no one has to pay for a cab or worry about transportation. I'd also get everyone a full bottle of my favorite wine as one of the wedding favors. I'd also invest in a long, all-expenses paid vacation (post-wedding, sort of their own silver honeymoon) for my parents and his parents for doing so much for us and raising us well.

3) have you and your FI done things out of order? ex. lived together, kids, bought a house, etc?

We're technically living together for 1.5 months prior to getting legally hitched. It's just how the visa situation worked out. Other than that, we bought our own homes separately rather than together (he owns in Vancouver and I own here), so for a 'just married' couple we have a lot of personal assets and I think we're pretty lucky.

4) when you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

When I was in kindergarten my biggest 'grown up' dream was to be a cheerleader. I became a high school tennis player instead.

5) what do you do now?

I'm a software engineer. Oh. Yay. (Here my enthusiasm. XD) I love the people I work with, but it's not a world changing job.

6) say something about you that we would be surprised to know about you?

When I was a itty baby, I was one of the baby models in those Similac brochures you get at the pediatrician's office. I think I got paid in diapers and formula.

Have the whole shindig somewhere with a lovely view like Newcastle. Or at least a fancier reception location and have it last a lot longer! Oh, and CATERING!! And musicians for ceremony.

Shacked up, almost bought a house, have a 4-legged and furry kid

1) how long will you and your FI have been together when you get married? We had been together just shy of 4 years when we got married. We have been together almost 5 years now and married since last August.

2) if you had unlimited funds to spend on a wedding only, what would you do/change? I would have flown my entire wedding party to New York and gotten all our dresses at Kleinfeld's. Plus worn the Christian Louboutin's that I was lusting over before that would have been the perfect wedding shoe that I could never afford. Other than that I wouldn't have changed a thing, Our wedding was exactly what I wanted. Even those material changes wouldn't be necessary but it would have been a fun experience.

3) have you and your FI done things out of order? ex. lived together, kids, bought a house, etc? We started living together a year after we started dating. Other than that we have been doing everything in the order that we want to do them in.

4) when you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? I wanted to be a teacher or own my own daycare at one point. Then I wanted to be a florist, then a music teacher. It never stayed the same for very long.

5) what do you do now? I am the Self Checkout/Checkstand Manager at the grocery store that I work at.

6) say something about you that we would be surprised to know about you? I am the oldest daughter out of 4 that my dad has, and the oldest out of 2 my mom has.

jennyann~ just because i'm an asian country music superstar, doesn't mean my roadies have to be asian... you're hired as my drummer, and i no longer disown you. i hope you are okay with a salary in baked goods and bounce house excursions.
