How was your weekend?

Happy Monday!

It was a beautiful weekend weather-wise up in Boston, and some college friends were in town briefly, so I had a good time walking around outside without a jacket, seeing friends, etc.  I am just biding my time until Friday this week, when I get to go to DC! So excited.

hope everyone had a good weekend!

    Morning!
I had a FABULOUS weekend! Friday night my mom, FI, FILS, and I went to my favorite Mexican Restaurant - it was delicious. Saturday morning FI worked and my mom and I got up early and caught the train into NYC. We checked into our hotel - Marriott Marquis in Times Square - and headed out to shop! We met up with my good friend and shopped all day! We left my friend around 5:00 and headed to our dinner reservations at TAO at 5:30 and omg was it amazing. Hands down, one of the best meals I've ever had - then we headed back to the hotel to change and went to see Wicked on Broadway! It was AMAZING! Such a great story and just all around phenomenal show! We then walked around Times Square and headed to bed.

Yesterday we got up leisurely and grabbed breakfast in the hotel, then headed back to the train! We stopped at FIs new hotel to say hi then headed to KOP to get our GMs gifts! I'm so excited about them! We got a panoramic shot of each guy's favorite sports team! They came out great and the woman who owned the store gave us a great deal because we were buying so many! Another thing to check off the list! After that we met up with FI and went to dinner at Chili's. Overall it was an absolutely wonderful weekend. My mom left early this AM and I'm really sad to see her go :( I hate living so far from my family... Well, hope everyone had a great weekend!

md - YAY for going to DC this weekend!! Hope the week goes by quick for you! Glad you had fun with your college friends this weekend!

    Hi Everyone!!!

So my weekend was officially crazy... My stepsister got married, so my FI went down to Kentucky for the rehearsal dinner on Friday. I had only talked to my father once since he told me over Christmas that he may not walk me down the aisle. Needless to say, I had a good time on Friday but my dad didn't talk to me at all. Not even a hello. My stepmom was perfectly fine with me, but still tense. She didn't say hi to my FI at all.

The wedding was beautiful, and right before the wedding I was able to have a moment with my dad. I broke the silence this time by going up and just talking. I complimented his tux, but as it had some lint on it I went and got a lint roller and polished it off for him. It was an oddly sweet moment with my dad.

My fiance came to the reception late (on purpose). Once I got there I couldn't find him and my sent my stepbro to search for him. All the sudden I look over to see the my stepmom was walking my FI to sit with her and my dad. Apparently she apoligized to him for being so rude at Thanksgiving (she didn't say hi to either of us over Thanksgiving and walked out of the room when we walked in).

My dad talked to me later in the night, and long story short, throughout the course of the night, he apolgized to me, offered to help pay for part of my wedding, and told me that "some things are too precious " (my relationship with him) and that he would be honored to walk me down the aisle. I was shocked. The rest of the night was amazing, and I danced with my dad and even my stepmom got down and boogied with us.

So... it was a good weekend. It's still hard for my FI to let go of the way they have treated me for months, but he knows that deep down they do love me. He just hopes they don't repeat the same mistakes with me again.

MD- I am sure you will have a blast in DC this weekend! Any particular areas you are going to visit?

GMC- Glad you had fun this weekend! And those are really cool gifts for your GM.

Pretty good weekend all around. We went up to see FI's family on Friday night and I went to his cousin's baby shower on Saturday. Otherwise, we just hung out. They live way out in the country so it's always a little bit of a culture shock coming fromt the city and going there. I'm working all week and just waiting for the Big East basketball tournament to start.

    md-Have fun in DC! I'm sad I can't come play :(
G-did you find a RD dress? And I love, love NYC too.
sari-I'm glad your family all made up! That's great!

Sigh. sorry i've been MIA Friday and today! I've been getting somewhat beaten down at work - mostly just small annoyances that don't leave much time for anything besides work!

Anyways, glad to hear everyone had a great weekend! The weather was SO crappy here and we really didn't do anything too special. I'm looking forward to some St. Patty's celebrations next weekend!

md - woohoo for DC this upcoming weekend! hope the week goes quickly!!

G- so glad you had a nice time with your mom! LOVE the groomsmen gifts! i'll have to mention it to DF! Any luck with dresses?? I HEART TAO! Ive eaten there in both NYC and Las Vegas and oh boy - YUMMO is the word!

panther - sounds like a fun weekend! sometimes its nice to get away to the country. DF is from central PA and when we go up there to visit his fam its a bit of a culture shock for me too!

sarilynn - glad things worked out with your dad/stepmom! that's great!

Sounds like everything was good for everyone! Sari--I missed the backstory on the issue with your dad, but that's awesome things worked out!

I have been very MIA from TK lately--I got a promotion a few weeks ago so spent 2 weeks training most of the day, every day, while my friend who previously held the position was still here to show me what she could. So my first official week as team lead was last week and it was a doozy! H also had a rough week at work so we were totally ready for the weekend!

Saturday we had a gtg with 2 other couples--a "wine club"! We did a pinot noir theme and I made tons of food--all apps and finger foods. H made an olive oil sea salt chocolate mousse--delicious! We had a great time!

Yesterday just worked off our hangovers, had brunch with MIL & SFIL and I made soup and sandwiches for dinner! Lazy day!
