Intimate/Small Wedding Music Choices

Anyone who has had a small wedding, 40 people and under, in a private party type room/banquet hall, what kind of music did you have?

Not sure if a DJ would be overkill in a party room with under 40 people, for 4 1/2 hours. Or if a band/instruments would be too much???

Anyone have advice or suggestions?

Thanks!

We had a single guitarist play standards for our reception.

We are also having a small, intimate wedding and I am undecided as to what to do as well. I like the idea of having a DJ for the introduction, first dance, father/daughter dance, etc. However, I'm not sure if it's too much for something that small and somewhat informal.

This is exactly the kind of wedding I'm having...  I am making a playlist and using an Ipod.  I will put the special songs on a CD so there is no mix up.  (special songs being processional songs etc)

For a group that small, a relatively small speaker with an iPod playlist is probably a good bet.  Just keep it lowkey and I think you're good.
