First world problems (ie stupid vents)

Re: First world problems (ie stupid vents)

  • Some guy in my office forgot to put water in his cup-o-ramen before he put it in the microwave.

    Our whole office now smells.
    image
  • Also, I deliberately spill some coffee on the door of the dishwasher so that I can tell whether the dishes are clean are not.

Mica, are you going to say something to your maid?
  • Megbo, hope your bum gets better!  I almost fell several times last night on our night walk.  There was about 1/2" of snow on the ground with some ice underneath it.

I hate the combination of wet and granite.  I fell so many times in college on the granite steps outside of some of the engineering buildings.

<div>One of my coworkers did this with a cup of Easy Mac - it stunk up a two floor building for about 3 days.  The cup was all melted and black.</div>

  • I was supposed to get home in time to see her both last week and this, but work kept me there, so she came and left by the time I finished.  The nice thing is that she has never stolen from me and I trust her, but she is getting lazy about doing a good job, probably because I'm never here when she cleans.

<div>Ugh ditto that, I hate ice in general.  I was supposed to do a hill workout (running) too and the road was covered in ice.  I did two and slipped a little on the way down and just decided that this time, I would actually quit while I was ahead. (This was right after the skiing).  </div><div>
</div><div>And thanks! I'm waiting for the bruise to show up.  I don't bruise easily so I'm curious.  Our race shorts are tightish and revealing so I'd rather not look like a klutz or like I'm being beat. ;)</div>
  • Also can I FB vent here for a minute?

Someone posted a status about "0 is not a size, you shouldn't want to be a size 0, real men like curves and only dogs like bones"
This rubbed me the wrong way. I am a size 0 while I don't think larger people should feel bad about themselves because I am skinny..I shouldn't be made to feel bad because not everyone is a size 0.
    KWIM? Irrational Irritation, I know.

  • That is irritating.  I'm a size 0 and curvy.  Some people just have smaller FRAMES than others.
  • Crash, my size 18 self would find that a rational irritation.

We had to walk carefully over this giant ice puddle on our run yesterday.  I was so scared that I would slip.

Exactly. <div>I wouldn't dare say anything on FB though. They aren't nearly as rational as people on TK. :)</div>

    <div>That's definitely irritating. </div><div>
</div><div>And on that note, I hate never being able to find anything in my size.</div>
  • I'm a size 0 also.  H is most certainly a real man, and I definitely have curves (not huge ones, but I'm hardly a bag of bones).
  • Pfft.  I'm a double zero and damn proud of it.  Also? I have an ass. It's not that bad.  I have hips too.  And guys still find me attractive (obviously).

That's bs and that kind of ish peeves me to no end.

    *Obviously because I'm engaged*

MP I totally stopped today and walked for 30 seconds through this muddy grass part because I wasn't about to get my new shoes dirty.  Then I got back and realized I had my old shoes on.  Oops.

Truth. Except for slutty Juniors department stuff.  Banana and Limited usually have my size, but in lots of stores "0" is more like a six.
  • We didn't have any cold beer last night. One of us forgot to refill the fridge. :(

I should add that our alcohol overflow is kept on our uninsulated enclosed sun porch. It was cool, but not cold, since it was nearly 50 degrees yesterday.
  • Megbo - I'd do that in my not clean shoes.  Our dog HATES puddles.  I practically have to drag her over this one part of the trail every time.  And I have to be sure to park so that she won't have to jump over a puddle or she will refuse to get out of the car.  Such a diva!

<div>This is absolutely rational. I hate the real women have curves stuff (even though I am relatively curvy) because it's totally ok to be skinny. It doesn't make you not a woman. </div><div>
</div><div>ETA: To clarify, your irritation is rational. What that person said on FB is NOT rational. </div>

American Eagle started doing that. It drives me crazy. <div>

<div>Right? I was so happy when I found our Dillard's petite section. STUFF THAT FITS AND ISN'T COVERED IN GLITTER!</div>
  • I am spending the night in a hotel with a friend of mine so we can go to our interviews together Friday and then class. She is dieting and we are going out to eat Thur night. She said she needed to find something healthy to eat and I told her I'd eat healthy too, to help her stick to her diet.

I WANT SOMETHING FATTY AND CHEESY though. I eat healthy everyday. Going out to eat is usually a treat day for me! Boo!

  • Crash, I really hate that. When I was a size 0 I got so much crap for it. My vent is about online job applications. They take forever and my laptop died right in the middle of one. I really hope it saved my information.

  • Any, you know you prefer to dress like a hooker.

Did you pick a wedding band? I thought I saw you post about it somewhere.
  • I'm too tall for petites.  Bishes.

Also NY&Co shirts are WAY too big for my shoulders.  And American Eagle clothes only seem to fit people with NO chest whatsoever.

MP I sound like your dog.  Where we live we have one parking spot (loving awesome FI lets me have it) and it rains all the time here so it floods on each side.  Since it's usually just me driving I park as close as I can to the right because it slops up to where the grass is, making it easy for me to not get wet.  I'm a pansy.

ETA: Ricksang you are nicer than me.  I don't understand the whole needing someone else to eat healthy with you.  Obviously it'd be tough to work at McDs if you loved fries, but come on.  If I want something greasy I get it because like you said, I generally eat really healthy!

  • Meg, I can just picture you leaping out of your car.  That's what April does with puddles.  It's funny, because she loves bounding through snow and rough-housing with other dogs.  But not getting wet.  I guess I should be grateful that it means she doesn't come home soaking wet and covered in mud.
