***moneypenny***

Hey there!  I haven't been keeping up with the boards all that regularly, but just wanted to check in and see how the job hunt is going for you.  Have you found something yet?  I'm doing contract work for a firm downtown, but am still on the hunt for something more permanent.  I feel like things are slowly starting to look up in the legal industry though!  Hope all's well!

Hi eouellet!  I'm glad to hear you've found some contract work!  I'm also doing contract work right now, which is awesome.  I'm in-house with a pharmacy/pharmacy benefits management company and I love it.  I totally agree--things seem to be looking up!  I've had a few interviews in the last couple weeks, so maybe something permanent will come through.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for both of us!Kiss  How are you aside from the working situation?  Hope you are well!

Hi Teebagy!  I'm a healthcare attorney.  Did the big firm thing for 6 years and got laid off.  The economy has been disheartening, but hopefully the legal field will pick up soon.

Any ideas about what practice areas you're interested in?

I am concentrating in intellectual property- soft IP though. I am focusing mostly on copyright and trademark work. Although I haven't fully decided! I enjoy transactional work and litigation. I am currently on a High tech journal at my school and writing in the area of copyright and internet law.

Nice!  I started out as an IP attorney, but doing patent work.

That is definitely the more popular IP! If you ever hear of anything in soft IP, let me know! It's a bit rare to find but I come from the world of journalism.. I am not qualified for hard IP but I just don't want to leave the creative field entirely.

Oh good Money, I'm so glad you found something you are enjoying!  I find healthcare law very interesting, too.  I hope that this turns into something permanent for you!  I've had several interviews for a permanent position in the last few weeks too, so things are definitely starting to turn around I think.

Good luck in school Teabagy - I'm a fairly recent grad myself (BU Law) so don't hesitate to reach out if you need any advice.

Oh, and Teabagy, I'm sure you already know but Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge has a pretty good soft IP practice so you may want to try to network over there.

Thanks for the tip. I've contacted them in the past but I am working at building more contacts. I am currently at a new firm in allston but I need leads for graduation!
