  • I suspect that the reason budget brides get obsessed with them is because budget venues are the ones least likely to have decent looking chairs.  And of course, budget brides probably aren't getting Chiavari chairs.

    My reception venue was a club that was a converted warehouse.  Not only were many of the chairs rather beat up, but they were not even the same type of chair--some were banquet chairs, some were metal folding chairs.  The chair covers helped make them a bit more uniform, as well as hiding the beat up bits.

    And unlike some decor items, chair covers can be relatively inexpensive.  If you buy them already used, and then resell them after the wedding, they will not have declined much in value.
