Getting Pi$$ed Off

I knew this was going to be a problem, I had been stressing over it since we set the date...what shoes am I going to wear? I know this shouldn't be an issue but quick FYI: My FI is 6' 2"....I'm 6' and I love heels. The problem is most heels average about 3 inches which would but me in at 6' 3" but I don't want to stand taller than my groom on our wedding day. Not only that but it isn't easy for me to find cute shoes, that are reasonably priced AND suit my needs. The reason for this is that I wear a size 13 shoe....no go ahead and laugh, I'll wait....Done? Ok, moving right along....

I really want to be feminine, especially since my wedding dress (once I make it :P) Is going to be tea length, if not a little shorter. If I was wearing a longer dress, I probably wouldn't mind wearing flats ((gasp!)) or whatever but I have fairly decent legs (so people say) and with the style of dress I have in my head heels would be nice but I keep coming up short in my style selections OR (as in the case when browsing on Amazon) the heels are wayyy too tall- I'm six feet tall, what the flip am I going to do with some 4-6" heels? My name is NOT "TASTY Tower" so I shouldn't be wearing shoes that make me look like I'm the headliner for Diamond Joe's Strip Club- I'm just sayin. I have a pair of those in my closet but that's where they stay- in the closet (hey, they were on sale for $20 dollars in MY size...that don't happen often so what if they're 6" and I can't walk without hitting my head on the hallway light fixture)

All I can hope for is that I'll find a cute shoe, in my size, with a 2" heel that goes nicely with my dress (once i finish making it lol). Sorry this is so long but I appreciate the opportunity to vent. I kind of-sort of feel better :)

I cannot relate to the challenges finding your size or to having to be careful at selecting heel height because that isn't my situation. However, I am a SHOE LOVER so I feel your frustration at not finding the shoe you want PERIOD. I am currently having the same issue myself. I really hope that you are able to take your time to look around and find something awesome. I admire you for making your dress...I wish I was that talented!

Aww, I hope you can find a shoe. There's a place here in Houston that my firend {who also wears a 13, I think} buys her shoes from. Let me see if they have a website....

Macy's has extended sizes (at least that is what they call it) now. I don't know if you have a macy's where you are but you can check online and they have everything that they sale in the smaller sizes. My aunt has a similar situation and I am her shoe shopping buddy and we usually find what she is looking for at Macy's or even Nine West. HTH

    LOL at Tasty tower!

Have you checked www.bakersshoes.com or www.zappos.com? Also check Off broadway if there is one in your area, I know for sure they have up to size 13 and they have really cute shoes in all heel heights.

Hey Honey.... Check out Nordstroms..... They have and will order whatever you need...in whatever size you need it... Yes... they are kinda pricey....but whatever... If your dress is on the shorter side.... then your shoes have to be SHOWSTOPPERS!!!!  Size 13 aint no problem...they makem and you can gettem.... Check them out seriously.....I think you'll be pleased.... Let us know!!!!

I've never had good luck in Macy's shoe department... They say...atleast around here..they have extended sizes..but I wear an 11 and they NEVER have them...so I'd bet they prolly wounldnt have a 13 either...but you can try...

Don't have any suggestions to offer, but just wanted to say that I feel your pain. I'm the same height as my FI, and wear size 10/11 shoes. It sucks!

My sister has the same issues - she's much taller than her now hubby (about 6 inches to be exact) and wears the same size as you.  She found her shoes on zappos.com.  However, she did opt for flats because no matter what size heel she bought she'd still be taller than her hubby!

Now I have the opposite problem - I'm about 14 inches shorter than my FI so no matter how high a heel I wear I'll still look much shorter than he.
