Crazy work schedule!

I manage a bar in a country club and bartend there Monday-Thursday 6pm-1am.

I just landed a bank job, wahoo, but it's only part time for now so I'll be keeping my normal bartending schedule.  At least until the wedding, to help pay it off.

This shouldn't be too bad once I'm in my branch but the training schedule is a little brutal.  It's this Thurs and Friday and then Mon-Fri next week from 8:30-4:30.  The problem, the branch they do the training at is a little over an hour away.  This means working until 1am, getting home around 1:30, being up at 6am to be on the road at 7am, working 8 hours and then driving straight to my other job and working another 7 hours just to do it all again.  I know it's only a little over a week but OUCH!

Just needed to vent haha.  It's only part time but it's full benefits already and they like to promote from within so hopefully in the next year(ish) I'll be able to move up to a full time position.  *fingers crossed* that I can get through this and next week!

Yikes, that is nuts. Be careful driving when you're that tired!

That's actually my only concern.  I don't do caffeine either, I gave it up close to a decade ago.  The only time I have it is when I have chocolate or the very occassional iced tea.  Going so long without it, my body has a hard time processing it and it makes me wickedly sick now.  So no coffee either!  Gonna have to rely on trail mix and plenty of fluids to keep me going.

I tried one of those 5 hour energy drinks once.  Never, ever, ever, ever, ever again!

  • Ya, I don't drink coffee either. Never have - love the smell but can't stand the taste. I think the energy drinks would only make things worse. Plus they taste nasty.

    Good luck!

  • That is going to be a crazy week, I bet you will be thankful when it is over.  Since you don't drink coffee, try eating an apple on your way in.  I have heard they can give you a boost of energy.  I don't know how true it is but it's worth a try.

I feel your pain as I also took on a second job. Obviously you are working more hours than I am and late into the night, but I understand the chaos of trying to get from one to the other. I finish my job at a tutoring centre at 5pm, then have to rush over to the restaurant i work at for 5:30. Then I wonder why I am so tired and haven't seen my FI in ages.

  • I never heard that about apples, but I'm an apple fan so I'll definitely be trying that tomorrow morning!  Plus they're all full of fiber so maybe I won't be starving by lunch time, since my typical breakfast is between 10 and 11am.  Thank you for the tip.  :)

Jenn, that sucks, I'm right there with ya!  Aside from when I get home and he's sleeping and the scrambling in the morning I'll be doing to get ready at the same time as him, we won't see each other until Friday nights the next few weeks.  Ugh.  Hate it.
