Wedding/Reception Sites in the Jacksonville area

Does anyone know of any reasonably priced locations for an outdoor wedding and reception site in the Jacksonville area?  I've been searching online and it seems like everything I find is VERY expensive.  I'm not from this area and am at a loss.... any ideas?

Check out Ocean Breeze Conference Center at the Mayport Naval Station.  I'm getting married there on the beach and then reception indoors.

Civilians can get married there as long as they have a military sponsor.

If you are flexible on the day then weekdays tend to be less expensive.  We are having ours at the Casa Marina hotel in Jacksonville Beach and the minimum is about half the price for a Friday verus a Saturday.

I was going to get married in Jax and I was going to use the Hyatt Regency Riverfront.  They have a huge outdoor area perfect for ceremonies and receptions, catering (that's very tasty) on site, great staff, reasonable prices, and you simply can't beat the view they have of the St. John's.  If you want your reception to look upscale and have it on a budget, this is the place to do it.

The Adele Grage Center in Atlantic Bch is a nice place but it won't hold too many people, I'd guess about 100, but it has a nice outdoor garden in addition to the indoor space, parking in the area is also limited if that is a concern to you.

If you want to have it on the beach you can get a permit from the city of Atlantic Beach for only $25, but then you also have to do everything yourself. My FI and I really wanted to use the beach for either our ceremony or reception but when we set the date in Dec that shot down the whole outdoor thing :(

Has anyone heard of The Majestic Room  or the Ramona Pavilion? I was looking online and thought about checking these places out.

The Ramona Pavilion is NOT a good choice....I am finding out the hard way. I booked my reception there and Diana the girl in charge is not very accomodating. It sounds like a good deal but with the lack of service there as well as her inabaility to be flexible it really isn't worth the savings.  You don't want to have to worry on your big day and I have been doing nothing short of freaking out regarding the reception.

I'm actually going to book The Majestic Room. It's a great price and the perfect size for our wedding. I went down a few Thursdays ago for their open house and I liked it a lot. They aren't booking for next year yet, though. They are doing that in July.

The Oceanbreeze has one of the lowest prices in the area.  But you must have a military sponsor.  The Casa Marina is great but I heard they are pricey.  My friend had her rehearsal dinner at Palm Valley Gardens, and it is gorgeious for outdoor weddings.  I'm not sure how much they charge.  The Winterbourne Inn is another nice venue for an outdoor wedding and can be affordable.  Another friend of mine had her wedding there in April.  The ceremony started a little earlier than most weddings, 11:00 a.m.  The price was more reasonable than if she had it on a Saturday evening.

Palm Valley Gardens is expensive (especially for a Sat. wedding) and the Majestic Room is terrible. The building itself is old. musky & you can see mold in the kitchen & the ceiling tiles.  EWWW
