Morning. I'm exhausted. I didn't sleep well at ALL last night. FI and I got into an argument last night and it really upset me because we never argue. Then I just couldn't fall asleep. When I was finally asleep, I found myself waking up throughout the night and just laying there half awake/asleep. Then some storms rolled through. I just want to go back to bed.

Jill, that video is effing terrifying. It's going to haunt me all day, those poor people. Tornados scare me so bad, I'll take a hurricane any day over those. It reminded me of when 2 went right in between my house and my grandparents during Hurricane Charlie. It didn't destroy the houses, but the sound of huge oak trees cracking and being uprooted (all while my mother shouted to get in the closet and the cats howled in their carriers) is a sound I will never forget. I can't express my hate of tornados enough.

I slept well last night - mostly because the storms had already passed through. Yesterday was pretty crazy with the tornadoes touching down 1/4 miles away from my house!

Birdie I hate it when H and I fight. I'm sorry.

Sorry to hear Lynda

Sounds like everyone is tired today, myself included. I drove back from Chicago yesterday and got caught in two storms. We had to sit in the bathroom of a gas station while two tornados went through town. I'm so glad this weekend is over, I hardly remember what my house looks like anymore.

We worked it out. It was really stupid because it was just about Memorial Day weekend and going to my family lake house, but I get kind of emotional when it comes to the lake house. It also had a bunch of flooding recently, so we aren't sure what we'll be walking in to when we get down there.

This is awful. A newlywed couple in Lexington, KY were on their way to their wedding reception when a cop ran a red light and ran into them. They both had to go to the hospital, where the groom remains in fair condition. The comment section of the newspaper also says that the bride had lost her father earlier in the week.

Lynda, I'm sorry for your loss.

Birdie, I can totally commiserate with the no sleeping thing. I've been on new medication to help me sleep better for about 6 weeks now and I'm still not sleeping well. I've already seen like 4 or 5 doctors about it and none of them seems to be able to help that much. I need to find a good doctor but I have no idea how to do that, plus I've already used a good chunk of sicktime this year trying to get this figured out.

What I heard from a friend in the police department that knows that cop was that he was talking to the person that was on the "ride along" and he didn't see that the light was red until it was too late. <div>

Morning. Big hug to everyone who's having a rough day so far.

I had a low-key but good weekend. I went to two restaurants I've been wanting to try, and H didn't have handball so we actually got to hang out a bit for a change.

Has there been anything on the news in the US about the big protests here over a hydroelectric dam project called HidroAysen? I doubt it but am curious. Saturday was a holiday where the president gives the equivalent of the State of the Union address, and on Friday night there were 40,000 people at a protest in Santiago with more protesting on Saturday. People are opposed to this project ruining parts of Patagonia in the south.

The really great part is that a Spanish newspaper claimed that the tear gas the police use in Chile is abortive and damages reproductive organs, so the govt banned its use on Monday, and then conveniently on Friday morning before the protests they said they'd studied it (in 3 days?) and would use it in cases of extreme need (which means they used it like normal). Total BS.

Adamar, I was shopping for dresses to wear to weddings recently and I swear all the ones I was drawn to were either black or white. I usually hate wearing solid black or white but when I'm shopping for a wedding it always seems to be all I see.
