6 months to start to finish

I have just started planning my wedding, we booked our venue in glenwood and have 6 months till the big day. I'm looking for recommendations for an Officiant and photographer, and florist. I just don't know where to start!

Re: 6 months to start to finish

  •  I love Meri Valentin Photography! Meri did my sister's bridal portraits. She creative, professional and fun. http://www.merivalentin.com   402-332-6523
  • I would second Meri Valentin. She is doing my May 2012 wedding and did our engagement pictures.  She is very relaxed and we had a blast.  Our pictures were beautiful and so much to chose from.

For officiants I would recommend Signautre Ceremonies We are working with Andrea and she has been great at listening to us and capturing who we are and our relationship in the ceremony.  We actually got a draft of our ceremony tonight and I can not wait for May now as the words are beautiful!

For flowers I am using Creating Atmosphere. Dustin is easy to work with and very creative.  His prices can not be beat. I'm not sure what his availablity is, but it is worth checking.

    Good luck with your planning!

  • Floral- We are going with Melissa at Blooms and Bouquets in Lincoln. She was voted best of the knot for the last few years, and she is amazing to work with. We had hired Creating Atmosphere but let them go due to their lack of communcation (didn't show for our first appointment, and then it took over three weeks to get in touch to finalize ideas). At that point we just said we would find someone else who wanted to work with us.

Photography- We had our engagement pictures with Amy Price. Her work is amazing!

Officiant- We are getting married at St. Cecilia so I can't provide any information on that.
  • I have a friend that does photography and he did a great job! His name is Matt Ryan and he is out of Council Bluffs. He has done several weddings and other types of events as well. He is very versatile and able to adapt to any style or environment. He recently did a wedding that was very traditional and they wanted traditional style photos. His favorite though is kind of quarky fun weddings and keeping a little bit of modern touches into it.

  • Also what is your budget on the wedding? Most of the people we got are very budget friendly but they are also very new at working with weddings. We used J Salendar for our photographer since our friend Matt is in the wedding. If you want an excel spreadsheet of the photographers I looked into I can send that to you as well.

That was all done last fall I believe so prices may have changed and any comments were what I personally thought. :-)
