For the brave people sticking around TK

Re: For the brave people sticking around TK

  • It's been difficult packing for him for this trip, since he spent last night in Evansville and will be flying from Colorado to California for a business trip. In other words, I needed to pack for two weeks, including casual clothes, work clothes, and his fancy pants (which I obviously overlooked).

[QUOTE]H packs for himself...but I always have to gently nudge that one shirt, 1 pair of shorts, and 1 pair of jeans is not enough for a weekend hahaha

<div>Haha that's how FI is too! I usually sneak an extra shirt and pair of boxers into my bag since he always insists he won't need them. He's always glad I packed extra though. </div>

H is the same way.  He'd just pack a t shirt, jeans, and a pair of boxers for a whole weekend with all sorts of different events.  Sigh.  H needed to get married.  He's hopeless on his own.
  • We haven't gone away in quite a while.  H was always worried about our turtles...now that they have both passed away, I would like to go somewhere for at least a weekend.  I figure my MIL won't mind feeding the cat.

but the other part of me doesn't want to spend any money while we are saving for a house.
  • Haha I often wonder what a lot men do without wives/GFs. FI's BM is one of those people. He could go weeks without eating a real meal and his place was a mess. Bless his new GF.

Hockey -- see if you can get a good Priceline deal on a hotel.  It's good to get away for a few days every so often.

  • mica...ya that's what I figure.  We didn't do a honeymoon...which is fine, but it is hard planning any time away.  I grew up living on the beach...but H is not a beach person.  I love to camp, but he doesn't like the idea of roughing it.

So I am trying to find something woodsy, cabin like...but I am clueless hahaha

maybe look for a vrbo in New Hampshire or Vermont?  Or a B&B?
  • Evening all.

Special, I feel like every time we go to a wedding on H's side of the family, every guy in the family forgets something.  We went to one once where one forgot a belt, one forgot a tie, one forgot a shirt.  It was hilariously ridiculous.

  • Hockey, you could also try the mountains. I don't know which ones are closest to you though.
  • we are pretty close to everything..(NH, VT, etc) ...but everything I am finding is requiring a week stay, and H just can't get that off of work...ah well.....day trips it is!

Bay -- I haven't been able to speak above a whisper since Sunday night, but my throat started "tickling" on Friday evening.
  • Lots of state parks have lodges. We stayed in them a lot while growing up, since my mom hates camping as much as I hate exercising. Some are really nice.
  • No good, Mica :(  I hope it starts improving soon!
