Salt Water Taffy

My FI is from Maine and we're looking for ways to incorporate this into our wedding without it being too over the top. One time during a visit to ME we went to this awesome candy shop that specializes in salt water taffy, and they actually call their taffy "Goldenrod Kisses". Apparently you can bulk order these online and have them shipped to you. I'm thinking about doing this for our favors since it has a memory attached, it's sentimental to FI, and will bring ME to our wedding.
My only concern is that some guests might not be fond of salt water taffy... I don't know. I just feel like guests would be pleased with something a little more traditional.. but may traditional isn't always better. Thoughts?

My look on this is, if they don't like it, they wont take it or won't eat it.  Resulting in you potentially  having taffy for a while :)

My other thought is whether we should do like individual boxes at each seat, or do like a taffy style candy bar where this can choose their own flavors??

You're never going to be able to please everyone, so if you like the idea, then go with it.  I think it would be simpler to package the favors individually.

I think it's a fantastic idea.  Cute, unique, and personal to you.  Awesome:-)

With any kind of favor you risk that people won't like it or will be unable to eat it (due to allergies or whatever), or not want to keep it/use it.     Is there any way to get a few different flavors so there is some variety?  That way guests can trade with each other if they get a flavor they don't like.

  • No matter what food you serve, someone won't like it.  I think most people like candy, and those that don't can still have cake for dessert.
