Who gets invited?

Who gets invited to the bridal shower. I am throwing a shower for my mom and don't know who from her fiance's list I should invite and do I invite every female on her list. Also how long in advance do I send invitations and what is the rsvp date? TIA

You should only be inviting those women who are closest to your mom and perhaps her FMIL and FSILs. You don't need to invite every woman who is invited to the wedding. But make sure you only invite those people who are also invited to the wedding.

I would send out invite about a month in advance and have and RSVP date a week before the shower. That should give you enough time to make arrangements for however many people are attending. If you're having it at a restaurant though you'll want to check on how far in advance they need numbers and plan accordingly.

Is this a surprise shower?  If not, you should decide how many people you can accommodate at the shower, and then tell your mom "I can invite up to X people.  Please give me a list of those you and your FI are closest to and would like to be invited."  It is common for the bride to be involved in creating the shower guest list.

    No one.
The shower guests are the bride's closest friends who have been with her and supported/encouraged her for years.

    No.

Showers are held in a 6-week window prior to the event.  So set the shower date, then set your INVITATION MAIL date three weeks prior to the event, then set your RSVP date one week prior to the event.
