Having 1 or 2 photographers for the big day?!?

Ladies,

We're hoping to book our photographer (Michael Moss) in the next couple of weeks. We can have Michael shoot our big day alone or we can pay for a second photographer.

I wanted to see if you all had any feedback regarding our dilemma. Is it really worth paying for the second photographer?

Yes. I loved having 2 at our wedding. The girls and guys got dressed at the same time, and I would have hated to not have photos of one or the other...

We are going to have 2. We are not doing a pre-meeting, the one old fashion thing we want to do. So with two photographers we can have one with the grooms and go ahead and get his groomsman and family pic out of the way and one with me so I can do pre-wedding pics. That way after the wedding we only have to worry about our couple pics.

Plus it is nice to have different perspectives, and one photographer who focuses on you and the groom while the other gets to take pics of family and friends.

It is very beneficial to have 2 photographers. The main photographer generally captures your typical wedding moments and the 2nd can capture all the things going on throughout the wedding with your guests and all the small details such as cake, centerpieces etc. It makes it easier for the photographers to get every shot possible which in turn makes you a happy customer.

we are having two but i got lucky b/c they are husband and wife team so you get both regardless what you pay for

We are only having one, although we're having two videographers. We booked photography wayy, wayy back when. I wanted two photographers, but we ended up getting some other more important things in our package instead.

I was worried about having just one photographer, but I think we've gotten the logistics worked out now. Since both FI and I will be getting ready in the same building, just different rooms, our photographer will be able to get shots of both the girls and guys getting ready. Plus, we'll have the videographers too so I'm not worried that we'll miss something.

We are only having one photographer, but there will be 2 videographers, so I'm hoping everything will be captured in one way or the other! 2 photographers does sound like a good thing to have!

Ditto. Plus, you will capture many more special moments with two, you'll get the same shot at different angles (first kiss, e.g.), etc.

We're having 2 but that's included in their package. I'm glad that we'll be able to get shots of everyone getting ready at the same time and can knock out the photos that are usually done separately before the ceremony so we don't have to spend as much time on formals after.
