Planning Out of State/Beach Wedding!!

We live in Arizona but are having our wedding in Michigan on a private beach up North. I am so confused on what I need to do, we cant make a trip out there to Novemeber. I am doing this pretty much all online or over the phone and my trust in these vendors are non exsistent. Any tips? I dont want to put deposits down and then they flake, its a big fear.

I want the vintage classic look, but with a beach view is that even possible?

Thanks!

  • There is a Michigan board on TK under Local Wedding Boards to the left. Not sure how active the board is but they could help you out with reviews, advice, etc.

Be sure you are comfortable with the vendor (talking to them on the phone and via email) and have looked at multiple vendors before booking. Book the most important vendors to you first. For us that was our photographer. We also did planning long distance but were lucky and able to visit frequently. Even if you are never able to visit plenty of ladies book everything sight unseen and never visiting. A wedding planner could be a huge help i you do not have a trusted relative or friend that can help you out (looking at venues and so forth).

    Congratulations and good luck.

</div><div>its in Harrisville Michigan. I have my mom looking at all things locally. Its at her beach house so I am familiar with the lay out of the area. People are coming from the metro detroit area, california, arizona, and florida, and I even think South Carolina. </div><div>
