  • 1. First Name & Fiance's First Name:  Taneesha, Ryan

    2. Your Birthday & Age and Fiance's Birthday and Age: 6/20 -25, 10/3- 28

    3. City Born In? Camden, NJ (str8 hood)

    4. City Live in? Somerdale, NJ (singing* moving on up, to the eastside, we finally got a piece of the pie)

    5. Where did you go to college? Rowan University

    6. What was your major? Well I started out as an English/ Sec Ed major then switched to History/ Sec Ed, then dropped Education altogether and kept History and picked up a Concentration in African American Studies

    7. What is your current job? Just left (america's most convenient bank) after 2.5 years- I got stories for days about that place. Now I'm QA(quality assurance) at FedEx. Listen people please make sure you give the correct address when ordering merchandise online or you will get a call from me. You live at an apartment, don't forget the apartment number, if its going to your workplace don't forget the suite number. I also need you to leave a valid telephone number with the shipper and not 999-999-9999 just in case we have any questions I can get a hold of you. I can't tell you how many packages we get a day with missing information. People are so stupid!

    8. What is your dream job? I can't say that I necessarily have a "dream job," I just want a career that I can live comfortably off of. I want to help people and not hinder them.

    9. How did you and your fiance meet? Through his friend who is our best man. His friend and I went to the same high school and he really liked my best friend, so he introduced me to Ryan because my best friend and I were close and we did everything together so we all decided to go on a double date... The rest is history. Sidenote: Their relationship never really came to fruition and me and Ryan have been inseparable since. Me and the girl are not best friend's anymore. She still has some growing up to do.- She ratchet!

    10. When did you get engaged and how did he do it?? Stole from my website-

Our anniversary is 4/14, so we always take time from our busy schedules and make the day all about us! This year Ryan informed me ahead of time that he had our day planned already and all I had to do was take off of work. Saturday 4/14/12 was our 9 yr. anniversary! We woke up and Ryan prepared lil Ryan's bag and took him to grandmom's house for the day. When he got back Ryan made me breakfast- he never cooks so it meant a great deal to me. I then gave him greeting cards that I always get him every year because he prefers those over expensive gifts. He let me know that he felt bad that he didn't get me anything but I told him it was cool and that I was just excited about spending the day with him. After breakfast he let me get some school work done because my senior seminar rough draft was due that night and since I didn't know what plans he had for the rest of the day I tried to get as much as I could get done. After working on my paper for a couple of hours I decided to give Ryan my full undivided attention. We headed over to our local mal, Voorhees Town Center, and Ryan wanted to purchase some new shoes for me but they didn't have my size so we went to a Cherry Hill mall. I found the shoes I wanted right away and was ready to go but Ryan thought I should look around and get more stuff, which is out of the ordinary because we usually only go to the mall to purchase items for the lil one. I decided on a cute summer dress and we were feeling hungry so we left to grab a bite to eat. We arrived at Red Stone in Marlton and we both enjoyed steaks and potatoes. After dinner Ryan informed me that we had one more stop to make. After starting the car he realized he didn't know how to get there from where we were (Ryan has no sense of direction) and he might need my help but he didn't want to spoil it. I simply told him to use Navigation on his phone, so he did. Navigation took us to Dairy Queen in Pennsauken. I I could think of was why are we here when we're both full from dinner. He was adamant about us getting something so I ordered a vanilla cone while he ordered a small milkshake (what grown man wants a small milkshake lol). Our order was ready and we stepped outside and Ryan said "Let's sit on the bench" I was like "No, it's getting chilly out here" then he said "let's sit on the bench" again and a lightbulb went off in my head- HE'S ABOUT TO PROPOSE! THAT'S THE BENCH I MET HIM ON! I calmly changed my tone and went to sit on the bench because I just knew he was about to propose (he better after all these years). We sat on the benched and reminisced about the early days when were together. I would talk and pause to let him have his moment and I did this often until it got old. My ice cream was finished and he steal hadn't popped the question yet. I got up looked him over and didn't see anything in his pockets that resembled a ring so I lost all hope and decided to go to the car. Ryan came in the car after me and said he bought me a gift while I was trying on clothes in the mall earlier that day. He took out of his shirt pocket a small folded card I opened it and was met with the words "will you marry me" in his chicken scratch hand writing and a beautiful ring sat tied to a purple ribbon hanging from the middle of the card. I was so excited I didn't even say anything I just smiled and gawked over the ring. He let me have my moment then said what was my answer and I said "you not gonna ask you gonna let the paper do it for you" and that's when he told me I messed up that opportunity when I left him at the bench lol. He asked nonetheless and I complied with an answer of YES! I was so ecstatic that I just wanted to share the moment with everyone and he told me to wait before I let anyone know and to just cherish the moment. I tried to negotiate by saying I'll just call my mom and everyone else can wait but he insisted that I should wait until I got home to share the news with everyone. We were approaching the street my mother lived on and I stated once again that I just wanted to let her know but he still insisted on me waiting until I got home. We arrived home and I was prepared to see my baby and his grandmother greet us but got something else instead. The house was pitch black when I walked in and then all the lights popped on and friends and family shouted SURPRISE! I fell to my knees and cried tears of joy because I was so happy that the people I cared about most were there to share this wonderful experience with me.

    11. When is the Wedding Day? 4/14/13 (our 10 year anniversary). I was pushing for 11/11/12, but it didn't happen :(

    12. Where is the ceremony and reception? Crowne Plaza Cherry Hill

    13. What are your wedding colors? Coral, orange

    14. Where are you honeymooning? I don't think we'll be honeymooning, maybe a minimoon. I don't think I can leave the baby for more than 2 days.

    15. Favorite wedding vendor so far? Venue. I fell in love at first sight!

    16. Biggest wedding splurge? Venue

    17. What is something you wish you could have at the wedding but don't? Open bar. Even though I can count the people who will be drinking on both hands (besides my wedding party), the option would still be a nice gesture.

    18. Another knottie wedding you'd like to attend? Anyone who lives within a reasonable driving distance (TRI-STATE AREA eh, em)!!!!!

    19. Favorite book? Harlem Girl Lost. I love my hood books!

    20. Favorite movie? Lion King- all Disney movies, I'm a big kid at heart

    21. Favorite tv show? I loved Desperate Housewives. Modern Family, True Blood, Bridezillas, Four Weddings, House Hunters, First 48, Unsung- I'm all over the place lol

    22. Favorite wedding dress designer? I didn't get that deep. My dress is Oleg Casini, but I wasn't looking for her.

    23. Any advice you can give? Treat others as you want to be treated

    24. Anything you wish you could change about your wedding? If money wasn't a concern I would fly all yall out to enjoy the day with me. You guys have been so inspirational. I have learned so much from you all. I really hope I can meet some of you (again I will call out the Tri-Sate area)lol. I also wish for the simple things like my dad walking me down the aisle and us dancing to Dance with my Father by Luther Vandros as I've pictured in my head dozens of times. This probably won't happen as my dad has never been a real father, being involved when he wants, not coming to my high school nor college graduation, dishing out empty promises, etc. I'm so over it. So, how about your mom one might ask, she isn't worth of walking me down the aisle either.

    25. Share something about yourself! I am very down to earth. I have been told I am the sweetest person that you could ever meet. I've been told I'm pretty funny and that I should be a comedian, sometimes I see it, sometimes I don't. I love my son, like crazy, he is my world! I'm shy and at 25 I'm trying to come out of it, but it's hard. I have some pet peeves! Spelling and punctuation. Differences between words with the same pronunciation and different meanings my favorites our and are, were and we're, whether and rather to and too. I could go on and on. One last thing I'm skinny and it's obvious but why do people dwell on it, like leave me alone, geesh. People be like you tiny, or you tall and slim, or why you so dam skinny, or you should be a model. I don't  like it. I'm so over it. I didn't ask to be this damn small. I guess why I'm so over this is because it's more from hate than you're beautiful type thing. Anyway I digress, for now. Any questions just ask away!

I know right. I was thinking of etching our names on the table, but my adult self thought that would be vandalism. Girl he surprised the hell out of me! I was not expecting all that, he is so NOT romantic lol. I had a pic of me n the dress n my phone but my phone needed a hard reset and it was deleted :( The one on the website does it no justice but I'll show you anyway.

I love your proposal story. You have me over here crying. I too have been "skinny" for years. Even after the first child I was still 100 lbs soaking wet. After the second and third child things started sticking in all the wrong places. Girl all I have to say is keep on livin' lol.

I too have been "skinny" for years. Even after the first child I was still 100 lbs soaking wet. After the second and third child things started sticking in all the wrong places. Girl all I have to say is keep on livin' lol.  Congratulations on your upcoming marriage.

Thanks! I visited many venues that I felt were in my budget and none were comparing to this one. I can't fit the kids clothes my limbs are too long lol. Welcome to the small club.

don't even know where to start.    I love the proposal story!  tell ry it made me fidgety den a mugg though lol.   I was like is he gonna ask?  when?  here?  where is the velvet box?  lol.

you ain't gotta say tri-state but so many times before I say: cherry hill's a 50 minute ride, i'll see ya'll in a minute lol.   psa for kita and B: tri-state = ny, nj, ct.  kita she was already talkin to you, need a ride?  um, B, we'll holla.  LOL.
