BOOOORED!

Ok so Im bored outta my mind. Anyone else around and bored??

Soooo, you know that feeling you get during the summer when its warm outside and youre stuck at your desk and all you want is to be outside in the sun. I have that feeling...but its not warm out! WTH?1

Oh good God. Does she not get that theyre supposed to? Monica, correct me if Im wrong...but from what Ive heard, military members are required (?) to wear their uniforms to formal events. We were going to make 2 of Joshs friends Ushers b/c of that....so we'd have military ushers!

    Sorry... just saw this....
I have mixed feelings.  I can't speak for the other services, but the Marines are strongly encouraged to wear their uniforms to formal events (plus... who wouldn't want to... gotta love a guy in dress blues... HOT!!!) not necessarily required... however, if this ceremony were on or near a base, they definitely should.  When you are in your hometown, it's a little different I guess... but who wouldn't want to be proud and show it off.
I have never worn mine ot a wedding unless asked (once, to be part of a "sword detail"... where they make a row of crossed sowds for the bride and groom to walk under as they leave the church)... and immediately after that, I changed into a dress for the reception b/c I wanted to feel like a girl.  Ha.  But that's just me and I always made it a point to seperate "Monica" from :Sgt S"
Kevin wants to wear a tux for our wedding, because he is marrying me as "Kevin" not "Corporal Boles"  I respect that.  All but 2 of our GM are also in the military (2 Air Force, 2 Marine) but they will be wearing tuxes... honestly... I don't even know if they asked about wearing uniforms.
Part of me will miss the military wedding... it is something so special and unique, but part of me (having spent 8 years in) definitely understands that the person in uniform is totally different.
Its a shame that this bride is being such a snot about it.  If the GM feels comfortable in and proud to wear his uniform, maybe she should try wlaking a mile in his shoes before she throws a tantrum and tells him to take it off.

Oh yeah... and I do want to go to the bridal show, but I don't want to go by myself and Kevin is working.
Would either of you like to be my date?

[QUOTE]I've been arguing with a girl on the July board... she's mad because one of her GM's is in the service and wants to wear his uniform but she wants him to wear a tux because she doesn't want him to stand out more than her FI... and she's all but ZOMG It's myyyyy dayyyyy I'll do whateverrrrr I wanttttt.

I told Kevin about this and he brought up a good point... well... A.  "What a whiney b!tch.  and B.  what if one of her guests shows up in uniform?  (Which I think would be freaking hilarious if she is being such a brat about it)  She may be able to dictate what the BP wears, but not her guests.  What would she do?  Throw a tantrum and make them sit in the back row or stand outside for the ceremony?

Haha I think if I was told I couldnt wear my uniform (if I had one to wear of course), I think Id make sure that someone else wore there. And Id make sure they got there in time for everyone to see them walking down the aisle to a seat. Haha.
