October 2012 Weddings

Question.

I am not having real flowers for the wedding. All the bouquets and corsages for the moms will be made of paper and will be kusudama flowers, something to this effect. The groomsmen are not wearing bouts as they will have pocket sqaures. What should I do for the dads and brothers? Get bouts? Have them in pocket squares?

Re: Question.

  • I would say a pocket square that's a different color or pattern than the other guys....just to set them a part a little.

I agree with aimee.  It would strange if a couple guys had bouts but all the other guys had pocket squares.  Maybe put the GM's square in your primary color and dads and brothers in your accent color. Just to set them slightly apart.

  • I am doing the exact same thing! Do you have pictures of what you have made so far?

The flowers for the bouquets and mostly four and five inch squares. For corsages and bouts I am using three inch squares, which make very cute small flowers... You can also cut off the backs of the flowers very carefully so they sit flat. That makes making the bouts and corsages a little easier, and more comfortable to wear.

I agree with your mom tho, if they are having corsages I feel like you should make them matching bouts.

<div>I don't think I know what that is.  Is it a double folded pocket square or two pocket squares?</div><div>

So I'm assuming one is displayed in front of the other.  Most obvious option to me is to reverse the colors.  If Black is your primary and White your secondary colors, for your GM have black showing in front and white behind, just switch it for the dads.
