Wedding Woes

How was your weekend?

Mine was great.

Friday - worked, dropped DD off at x's, shopped, laundry, cleaned house, got laid.

Saturday - slept in, went to a kid-free mom's lunch with some girlfriends, picked up DD, visited with DD's old teacher for 2 hours, played with DD, usual dinner-bedtime routine.

Around 8pm, the entire building's fire alarms started going off.  There are in-condo alarms and hallway/exterior alarms.  DD slept through all of them.  The police officer gave me a side-eye when he discovered I'd been outside visiting with neighbors and DD was passed out in bed still.  Meh.  She was safe, warm and sleeping.  If the alarms didn't wake her, I wasn't going to.

Sunday - DD and I played all a.m., had lunch with my sister and her family, came home for a three-hour nap!!!, more playing/arts, leftovers for dinner and normal night routine.

Generally uneventful, but a great weekend.

It felt completely wasted and I'm tired.

Friday was get together with friends followed by ushering around my drunk brother for my other brother's gf's bday party.  Got that?  I was okay with it, because my brother got home safe.  But seriously, there are some serious creepers out there.  Ugh.

Saturday I was so tired, after about 6 hours of sleep, then just laid around all day.  Took lunch out to H and others roofing.

Sunday I helped finish the roofing project then had to push my sunday activities back to after dinner.  Blech.  It just seemed very unproductive and I'm kinda in a funk about it.

    Move on.

Friday...Oh Friday was a day.  The kiddo woke up sick.  I had to haul him into the Dr.  He had a sinus infection.  My Dr's office has started electronically sending prescriptions over to the pharmacy, which is great, unless they don't have the meds you need.  Which was the case here.  It took us 3 phamacies to get the right script.  We came home and the kiddo rested all afternoon.

We had an appt for a mother's day photo for my mom at 5:30pm for the boys and my nephew.  We got down to the photo place and the kiddo proceeds to throw up in the parking lot.  Great.  He pulled it together for the picture.  We went right home after and relaxed the rest of the night.

Saturday-We woke up and did some housework.  After that we went shopping for groceries and mother's day.  Came home and just hung out for the afternoon,.

Yesterday-DH got up and went to work out.  We then went to brunch with my family at a place downtown Indy.  After that we went to my IL's and hung out until we went to a mid-afternoon dinner at Outback.  After dinner we came home and DH and the kiddo mowed the lawn.  Then we hung out and watched Amazing Race and went to bed.

Overall, very good, but there was a little fuckery on DH's part in there too.

Saturday we had a Kentucky Derby party at a neighbor's house, complete with a hat contest for the wormen.   I looked really cute and got a ton of compliments, but I was a little butthurt my hat (complete with handmade baby sock roses) only got 3 votes.   The fvckery - there were some husbands celebrating their betting victories with cigars.  DH knows I hate the smell and said he wouldn't be THAT guy.  Yeah, I saw the a$$hat out there smoking one anyway.   I left at 9...he didn't come home until 12:30am.

Sunday - went to an annual steeplecheese race we almost always attend.  Had great weather and good time.   DH got me a card from the baby, which was sweet but overshadowed by his dickery the night before.

    Weekend was pretty good.

Friday, Mom and I had a late lunch and did some shopping, then went home and hung out with DH.

Saturday was a spin class in the morning, breakfast at the Pancake House (YUM!), then mom and I got pedicures as a Mother's Day gift from my dad. Mom watched Baby A while DH and I went to Gulfstream for a friend's birthday party. We met up with him and watched the Kentucky Derby, then ate dinner at an overpriced restaurant with horrific service. We got our wine, appetizers and drinks comped from the bill, and free dessert for everyone, but it was bad. The waitstaff was too busy fawning over TO who was eating dinner there and having it filmed for his reality show. The highlight was the Skinnygirl Margarita I had.

Yesterday was the gym, then lunch for Mother's Day out with H and his brother. Mom and I opened gifts while Baby A napped when we got home. Mom LOVED her gifts and started crying. Win!

We hung out for the rest of the day and relaxed. DH disassembled the baby swing and bassinette for storage and packed himself for the week in Boston. Then he was so loud at 6am that he woke up Baby A and I. We both went back to sleep, me until 8:15, Baby A until 9.

I love Skinnygirl Margs.  People say they're too sour, I disagree.

My weekend was just OK.   Huge fight w/DH on Friday night, though.   That didn't really start things off well.   Saturday was just meh.   I don't even remember what we did.
Sunday, DH got up and got us Wendy's AND Tim Horton's for breakfast.   That was cool.   DD got me the "Bossypants" audiobook for MD.
    Delivered gifts to my mom.
Colored my hair.   Did my nails.   Watched some RHONY.
Went to dinner at my dad and stepmom's.   We had steaks on the grill then went for a walk to the park.   The weather was beautiful yesterday.  I think we all needed the sunshine.  :)

I like the sourness. I'm not into sweet drinks. This one was perfect. I was thrilled that they comped it because I saw on the bill it was $11.

Dang.  I'm pretty sure an ENTIRE bottle here is somewhere around $11.  :(

Also, Nephew ~3 is cracking me up.  Such a talker that one.  :)

This was at a restaurant in North Miami. The restaurant is within a horse track complex, so I'm sure they jacked up drink prices accordingly.

I'm not sure what a whole bottle costs here. I'm going to have to buy a bottle or 2 for a girl's night soon.

dh and i ordered chinese for friday night dinner.  i slept through his vomitorious food poisoning.  i only felt a little sick because i only had a few bites of his.  sweet and sour chicken -- never again, yo.

spent the day with the baby on saturday while dh laid in bed, cried to himself a little.

sunday, dh was feeling better and we did apt stuff.  i went to costco on a sunday -- i feel like this should be reported in the washington post.  people who go to costco on a sunday should be given medals for putting up with the other people who go to costco on sundays.

Friday night we stayed in and watched movies.

Saturday we went to Sam's. I want my medal. It was wall to wall people. We also went to a few home improvement/feed stores. We did some yard work and I did some work work. Then we watched some TV/movies.

Sunday I did nothing and it was GLORIOUS. It has been too long since I have done nothing. H did some yard work. Then we watched some TV.

yes.  two of my favorite restaurants are right next to strip clubs.

we use the comforter from the set.  it's his play mat/spit up mat.  easier to throw it in the wash than to clean the carpet.  I STILL LOVE MY SPOTBOT, THOUGH.

wz - another thing you don't need - a high chair.   The strap on (DIRTY) seats are better.

Some people may tell you that you don't need a pack and play, but since we travel a lot, and don't mind people babysitting her overnight, we have used it a ton.

Especially since you live in a small space, I think you should return the high chair.
