Wedding Woes

s/o cars

H said he will take me out in his car this weekend and teach me to drive.  Or at least try.  It's a stick and this could be verrrry interesting.

Ultimately I would love to be able to drive it randomly during the summer/fall months.

  • I have never learned how to drive a stick.

Can you share what this summer fun car is?

A guy I dated in HS had that car in white.  :)  I broke up with him because he was 'too nice'.

    Ah...memories.
  • Sweeeeet.

I had a 96 mustang convertible in white in college.  If it wasn't snowing or raining, the top was down.  I'd leave the windows up and crank the heat.  Yes, I was ridiculous.
  • Driving stick is easy, just don't give up when you stall it out the first couple of times and you'll get the hang of it....also probably a good idea to start out in an empty parking lot.

I actually had to teach my FI how to drive stick so he could drive MY car.

  • Oh yes.  We will be parking lot driving, like a 15 year old.

  • Mulletstang!

You guys don't know how to drive stick?! I know it's a dying art, but this is why sports cars come in - shudder - automatic these days. And that is wrong, simply wrong.

  • When I learned how to drive stick, I was doing pretty well until I missed a gear somehow and sent the car into this bucking motion that scared the crap out of me.  My friend who was teaching me, after making sure I hadn't broken anything, nearly died laughing at me.  I seriously almost peed myself.

I would rather see any automatic sports car than those damn paddle shifts.  I understand why they do it, but I just don't like it.
