NWR: Date Night...

Ok, so... As I'm sure I have mentioned before, FI and I are currently living with my family.  I am working full time and going to school, and FI works full time.  (Mind you, he works 1st shift, I work 2nd).  It gets stressful with all of this stuff in the way, and add on to it the diff work hours, we hardly get to see eachother.  PLUS, we are on a budget so we never go out.

So, we are going out next wed, and I was wondering: What do you ladies do with FI for a date night?  I know the obvious is dinner and a movie, but I want somewhere different for dinner, not just the usual Olive Garden or Friday's.  Any suggestions??

In what general part of town do you live? If you are central, Terry's Turf (between Mt. Washington and Mt. Lookout - near Lunken Park) is lots of fun and has gotten tons of great reviews. It is a burger place. The wait is usually pretty long but the food is worth it! Arthur's and Zips (Hyde Park and Mt. Lookout, respectively) are also two good neighborhood burger joints in the central location. I love El Coyote in Anderson (Tex-Mex). When I want to do something a little different we usually try to go somewhere that is more local and not a chain.

We live in Delhi... I actually was looking on UrbanSpoon and I saw Terry's Turf.  Maybe we will try them.

There's a website called Cincysavers.com. They have gift certificates 1/2 price on there to different places through out the city. You could buy one and go to that place. Example... they were selling Carlo and Johnny's gc for $25 for a $50 gc... that's a great deal. Or Don Pablos etc. It would be a great way to try something new for date night & save money :)

If you like Chinese food, my FI's and my favorite restaurant is Doodle's in Hyde Park.  The prices are really reasonable, the service is great, and the food is SOOO YUMMY (I recommend the schezuan eggplant w/noodles, my FI loves the Cantonese pan-fried noodles).   Their specialties are noodles & dumplings, so I'd recommend that over rice dishes.  Have fun on your date night!
