I am curious and I am sure some of the new girls would be interested to know more about you.

So tell us about yourself!

Hopefully the other girls will chime in with specific questions.

So this is how you do me huh???   LoL

Well, my name is Kanieka and I am an Accountant. I have a 3 year old daughter with my FI. We have been together for close to 13 years now and I must say that I cannot wait to be his wife.

Here is how it all started...
<div class="paragraph editable-text" style="text-align:left;display:block;">It was the first day of college, August 30, 1999. My best friend at the time and I went across the street to get something to eat in between classes. We ran into FI and one of his friends over there and his friend asked if they could have lunch with us. Of course we said no! LoL

We ran into them AGAIN back at school so at this point, we decided to introduce ourselves. We started all hanging out at school and eventually all started hanging out in the same crowd as time went by. I started to catch feelings but wasnt sure he was catching the same feelings I was catching...well, he was. We got to know each other and although neither one of us wanted a relationship at that time, we ended up truly wanting to be together and that was the best choice that we could have made!   :-)

    The rest is history...

We were originally supposed to already be married but aside from losing $2500 on a venue we booked, life happened...

We were new first time parents, FI got laid off, FI ended up opening a restaurant and the partnership went sour, etc...LIFE happened...

I must say that I am BEYOND ready to be his wife. Although we havent set an official date yet, we are going to get married next September.

Ok...I am ready for questions now...LoL</div>

      <div class="paragraph editable-text" style="text-align:left;display:block;">The Proposal
It was Valentines Day 2009... We awere visiting FI's dad in Kansas for the weekend and it was FREEZING!

I was 6 months pregnant. FI was tired of being cooped up in the house so we took a ride to the local park to get out for a little bit. Initially when we pulled up, I had planned on staying in the car with the heat on but FI asked me if I could get out with him and surprisingly, I didn't hesitate one bit. We began to play in the park. We got on the swings, we slid down the slides, we got on the seesaw and we went on the merry-go-round (which I couldn't bare for too long). We talked about how we felt like kids all over again and how exciting it will be to take our daughter to the park once she was old enough.

We then walked over to the table to take a seat. Before I could sit down, he then began to tell me that he was honored that it was me that was having his child and he does not imagine his life with anyone else. Having no clue what was going to happen, I responded telling him that I felt the same way and told him that I would never leave him. He professed his love to me and held me so close.

He then got on not one, but BOTH of his knees, pulled out the engagement ring and asked if I would do him the honor of being his wife. I immediately started crying and said YES YES YES!!! I couldn't believe this was finally happening. After I said yes, I got confirmation from our daughter that this was right because she kicked me hard right in the tummy. I told him that she said yes as well. He couldn't stop smiling.

And THANK YOU for the compliment...I love my little lady!   :-)
I actually need to update my siggy pic...cause that pic is about a year and a half old...lol

Oh yea, I am sure the rest of your questions have been answered in the previous post...</div>

No worries on caling me out...there are a lot of new "faces" here that I needed to meet anyway...Sultry actually called me out too BUT via PM...lol

Yes, I am trying to find a venue and since date doesnt really play a big factor, I figure I can find something and then we see what they have available.

The date we are looking at is 9/28 actually.
I dont want to do a Friday because I know how people feel after being at work all week...

Well, we are looking for a venue. I know that we need to set a date BUT once we find a venue, we can work with their availability.

We are going to pretty much be using what we had before in terms of STDs, colors, photographer, etc...

I am in no way saying we had the entire wedding planned but we did have a vision and that is something that we still want to bring to life.

I am actually pretty pumped about getting full swing back into planning...I definitely miss it...but most of all, I am sooooooooooooooo looking forward to marrying FI.
