There are a few more pics on FB, but here it is!  It's countertop height, and it looks really awesome because we have cathedral ceilings.

Full size - 54" square.

  • Pretty!

I am still longing for the day when Nelson gets all of his crap out of the dining room and we can fit a table in there! Grr.

  • Gretch - we have SO MUCH to do in the next few weeks.  It's sickening.  We want to move a ton of stuff around, but that means cleaning and moving other shiit first.

  • MIL is coming to stay with us for 3 days this month, so Nelson's task is to clean up his mancave before she comes. He said he can do it, so we'll see. We have a bunch of stuff in the dining room right now, 99% of which is his. The other 1% belongs to the cats. :)

  • lol, that 1% will stay, right?

If our apartment wasn't designed by a moron, it'd be much better.  We are so limited to where we can put the tv because of the stupid fireplace.

In general, both of us have too many books, but I think I'm going to pack some of mine away.  I don't really need my show books and scores here.  :(

  • Haha, yeah it'll stay. The litter box & cat tree are necessary. :)

I have no books in this apartment. I gave all of my books to Goodwill and my leftover college textbooks are at my parents (I kept a few for the hell of it.) It's Nelson's room that is the biggest problem area, but you've seen pics so you know!

  • That looks really nice!  I like that Christmas decorations too!
  • Thanks, ya!

gretch - Do you see the while bookshelf to the left of our table in the pics?  Those are ALL mine.  The bottom row is shows and method books, next one is mainly college textbooks and reference books, next is theater ed and other random stuff, and the top is my solo literature.  I actually have a very small collection of lit and should be building it more.

I have a smaller bookshelf in our room that has random decoration stuff on the top and then 2 rows of girl novels.  B has a bookshelf in the abandoned man cave that's all novels and some school/work stuff.

We also have no room for storage.  And we need to add baby crap into all of this.  Shoot me now.

  • Sucrets - Would renting a storage space be out of the question? Nelson did this when he deployed for a year. He got one so big that he could fit his Vibe in it, along with furniture and buckets/tubs of stuff.

  • That's a good idea, but I don't think DH would want to spend the money.  We just need to minimize our shiit, which will help once we move anyway.

  • Ooh, I like the table and chairs. It looks like a dark cherry finish, which I think is so rich and comfy-looking. And won't look old and cheesy in 5 years. Congrats!

  • Thanks!  They had the same set in regular height, but we went with the trendier high table.  I'm still not ready to totally grow up.

Yeah, Nelson paid $100/month in TN to store his stuff. If we didn't have my parents' basement to store some of our belongings, then we'd probably be doing that. I refuse to live in clutter - it makes me anxious. That's why most of it is in Nelson's mancave with the door closed!

  • I don't blame you - his mancave is awful!  A lot of the clutter is mine, I admit it.  But at least my stuff is neater than the piles of shiit that DH has lying around.  He just lets junk and garbage accumulate on his desk!  But since he moved his computer into the LR, his desk is smaller so it means less junk.  Yay!

I'm getting so tired, it might be bedtime for me.

    Night, gretch!
