Dress length and colored shoes

Hey girls! I just had my 2nd appointment with Olga saturday and was finally able to see my dress on with my straps taken up, and I got a little paranoid about the length with my shoes. Olga swears that it needs to come up just a little in the front so that I am not tripping on it, and maybe it seems noticeable because I am wearing blue shoes (to match my bridesmaids and my "something blue"). Maybe some of you have also worn a different color shoe and could see them when you walked? Or do I still need to see about having some length taken out from the bottom? Or maybe i am just thinking too much about it because it is all getting so close! :)

... first off... you don't want your dress too long! ask KatherineUTC! and I LOVED my shoes ... they were orange and white harringbone... and I wanted them to show a little :-)

This is poor quality, bc I just scaned it in.... this was acutally our christmas card too!

Oh those are cute! I absolutely love my shoes too, and loved the idea of "peek a boo-ing" them for pics, but could you see yours when you walked?

Yeah, I guess you could. My dress was a hair long so they probably weren't all that noticable though.... I don't really remember- you have so many other thoughts on that day- you shoes showing really doesn't cross you mind, lol!

Yes! Olga forgot to hem my dress :(   When I dropped it off, she put pins in it and everything so she knew where to cut the length. When I picked it up, we were so pre-occupied with learning the bustle and the corset that I overlooked making sure I could walk it in without holding it up. Well, I didnt realize it was way too long until RIGHT before going down the aisle. The front of the dress pulled and "caught" under my feet the entire way down :(   Make sure you can walk in it and that the length is perfect when u get it!

I had mine hemmed so that it was just off the floor - a half inch or so w/ my shoes on.  I didn't have any tripping problems and you could see my shoes a bit when I walked.  For any photos of them though - we just lifted the dress a bit :)

Truthfully, I wouldn't worry about people seeing your shoes when you walk in. The last thing people will be doing is staring at your feet Smile they'll be watching you and your husband to be.  If you want them to show in pictures in such I would have her hem it up a bit.  My dress was a little too long but we have plenty of picture w/me and my shoes.

My shoes will be purple and I'm planning on them peeking under my dress when I walk down the aisle and for photos, etc. If I didn't want people to notice them, I would keep them white.

But I think the most important thing is being able to walk properly in your dress. What a pain it would be to worry about tripping (and I would, I'm so accident prone) in that moment.

If you are going back in for more fittings, etc. just talk to her about it. How you'd like it to look and what she can do to make sure that happens. Hearing her professional opinion on why things are done a certain way could help you understand & make decisions better.
