Home remedy Secrets?

Ever since last year I have been a whole foods natural organic addict. I'm so excited about all the natural alternatives I'm learning about instead of going to the pharmacy and buying a pill for every little thing. Plus I'm saving a lot of money.

Last month I read that 2 tablespoons of Apple cider vinegar mixed with juice helps reduce menstrual cramps and it totally worked for me. I'm thrilled. I use to go through a bottle of Advil / Midol every month. Also I lost 2 pounds of water weight and I'm not bloated.

What are your home remedies that you swear by for beauty or health? I would love to learn more!!

Thanks!

For skin I swear by sweet almond oil. I use it sometimes in lotion or dilute it in the lotion. Works wonders for moisturizing my skin. However I have not found something that works for my face. Still have the occasional break outs.

Don't know if this counts but almond breeze soy milk is the best. I haven't drink milk in years and have been using silk soy milk for a while. I stopped using silk because of a possible carcinogenic ingredient it contained but I use almond breeze in cereals, smoothies and baking.

I use apple cidar vinegar to rinse my hair. It seals the cuticles and makes it shine. Now you have to tell me more about taking apple cider vinegar for cramps. I suffer from severe cramps and was prescribed medication for it. I hate taking pills. I was diagnosed with PCOS and sometimes the bloating is just unbelievable. It makes me look pregnant. Over the past 5 years, I've gained over 50 pounds. Alot of it is waterweight. So what are you taking for the bloating?

    Oh Chescam,

I'm so sorry you suffer with this issue too. Here is another article I found to be useful.

    <a href="http://www.livestrong.com/article/113943-benefits-drinking-water-apple-cider/">http://www.livestrong.com/article/113943-benefits-drinking-water-apple-cider/</a>

I never would have thought to put ACV in my hair because it is very Acidic. Do you put it in your conditioner to dilute it or do you use it straight? Also when using it for menstrual relief you must use the organic Apple Cider Vinegar that has not been diluted. Regular stores sell it at 5% but you need the organic kind. The taste is awful but I've been using it for a week now and I feel great. No signs of PMS at all.

I'm sure everyone's body works differently, but I started taking it once a day starting last week. My cycle started today. Normally my PMS symptoms start 4 days before my cycle so I figured I would start doing this a week in advance.

Today I feel great! I can't believe how "normal" I feel. Usually, I'm a monster during this time. I'm sensitive to light, people start getting on my nerves, and FI would have to cook because I can't stand up straight until I pop a handful of pills.

Now it's not a miracle solution I still felt a little discomfort but it is completely manageable. I don't have to lay down or disrupt my day.

Grew up on natural rememdies.  These are some of my favs:

garlic, lemon, honey - asthma, colds (boiled garlic soaked with lemon and honey will cut phelgm, break a cough in a minute, and was the key to preventing asthma attacks for my son)
echinacea - cold preventive (take daily for two weeks prior to cold season)
Jamaica white rum - rub it on your head and body to relieve fevers
Ginger - nausea (boil the ginger to make a very strong tea, relieves an upset stomach like that!)
oatmeal - to relieve dry, itchy skin
tumeric - rub on to relieve toothache

    Love is the ultimate superpower.
It can make you weak and strong simultaneously.
