Griffin Mansions? or other venue suggestions

Hi everyone,

This is my first post.  I've been reading around and saw that a couple people said they wouldn't recommend Griffin Mansions for a wedding venue.  Why is this and are there any people that would recommend it? It is a top choice right now so the negative posts are concerning to me..

We have only been looking for a little while and we are from the area so we have been checking as many options as possible.   We checked Terrace, Sunset Gardens, Emerald (this was really nice but expensive), Secret Gardens, Wellington, various casinos, and golf clubs.  Our estimate is that we will have over 130 guests, mostly from out of town.  Budget friendly would be great of course.  Any suggestions are very appreciated!  :)

  • I don't have any info on Griffin Mansions we checked out a few of the places you listed Sunset Gardens, Terrace EAQ along with a bunch of golf clubs. We ended up with the Revere Golf Club in Henderson and had an amazing experience.

  • The reviews on Sunset gardens were only mediocre like 3 stars out of 5, they basically all said the food was so-so so I would stay away from there.  The bad reviews that people have posted on here regarding griffin mansion was that the contact had horrible communication and never got back to them on any of their questions or concerns and then when the wedding came things weren't done how they wanted it.  Another bride I remember saying that the staff was fighting during their wedding and very unprofessional.

  • My cousin recently got married at sunset garden. It was a really nice wedding overall. The food was pretty good. Nothing spectacular, but everyone at her wedding was satisfied and were telling her how much they liked it. The appatizers were also very disappointng. We had salad, prime rib, an alfredo pasta, asparagus and I want to say there was one other thing. It was a buffet and well organized. They can and do hold multiple wedding a night so it was a tad confusing to find where we were supposed to go. She had her ceremony in a little outdoor terrace. The only problem is during their vows some planes flew into mccarran and it was pretty loud. I know nothing about griffin masions but wanted to give my 2 cents on sunset gardens.
  • In Response to Griffin Mansions? or other venue suggestions:
Griffin Mansions in Las Vegas has been shut down by the health district but they continue to scam unsuspecting brides....visit www.mynews3.com and the Wedding Woes story for all the details.
  • I was a griffin bride and found out 2 weeks before my wedding that they had been shut down. They failed to contact us and it's been a horrible situation. We were able To rebook with Emerald at Queenridge an we had an absolutely amazing wedding! I can't say enough about what the did within 10 days notice. I would definitely recommend checking them out! Good luck! Let me Know if you have more questions.
