Buenos Dias!

Good morning and happy Monday, ladies! :)

I'm pretending to be chipper even though it's gross out.  I need to work a full week and some extra hours to make up for my sick days last week.  Blech.

The weekend was decent, as usual, never long enough...

Re: Buenos Dias!

• Registering in store was not fun for me either.  I basically went home, deleted everything the crazy Macy's lady swore I needed, and just put what I wanted.

I'm in a motivation rut too.  Robert bought my new sneakers and we've been walking at least 4 nights a week.  That helps... I've got to get the food/eating under control.
Good morning! FI and I went to register on Sunday and honestly, I wasn't impressed with the experience. I thought it would be at least somewhat fun. Instead it was just annoying walking around the store trying to find the stuff I saw online.
Posted by lovethebeach16
Can you just register online?  That's what I did, I never even went to the store.

Good morning ladies!  I had a good weekend, relaxing and fun and also productive because I got the whole house clean top to bottom yesterday and did 5 loads of laundry.

I LOVE when laundry is done.  I just put the last BIG load in this morning and I'll toss it in the dryer when I get home.  It's so satisfying to me.

I know what you mean!  It always amazes me too how just the two of us can create SO MUCH laundry.  It's so nice to have all the clothes put away though and be able to walk into the closet and not trip over anything!

Yep again.  I was telling my mom that I think her house of 5 and my house of 2 have the same amount of laundry.  It's nutso.  I don't mind though since more of that clothes is starting to be workout clothes.  It means we're actually doing something and that's always good.
• Good morning ladies =]  we had a good weekend with J's family (mom was around for once!) and enjoyed the nice sunny weather, even if it was cold.  Just waiting for my coffee and thinking about the delicious donut I have waiting for me...

J is convinced that registering in the store(s) is going to be the best experience of the whole wedding planning for him.  I am dreading it...I hate pushy sales people and I'd much rather stay home in my sweatpants and cruise the internet when we get to that point.  *sigh*

Good luck with the diets/excercise, girls!  J and I walk everywhere we can (plus our campus is mostly hills), but I really need to get my food intake under control (oh donuts, you kill me...)

• Morning all! It's pretty exciting to think that in a couple of months, I'll be able to contribute to these laundry for two people / registering in the store conversations. It's still hard to believe that pretty soon, FI and I are going to have a normal relationship. :)

For now, though, I'm still in pre-exam hell. I have the longest day today - I'll be leaving here in a little more than an hour to go and meet my advisor, and I won't be home until almost 10pm. I have a bunch of meetings and things, and in between I also need to find time to cross more things off my exam list. I'm exhausted just thinking about it.

It'll all be over May 12 (I hope).....

Yeah, at Macy's they were pushy, and it was annoying.  I guess, prepare for the worst, but hope for the best.  And just go along with whatever and just change it when you get home.  It's not like you're "married" to those decisions. :)

Not to mention, I changed my stuff CONSTANTLY because I registered to early, things started being discontinued.

I registered at Macy's, BB&B, and Crate & Barrel.  C&B was my favorite.
• Morning, ladies! Today will be a pretty relaxing day as it is the last day before J's surgery. We need to do some stuff around the house and run a few errands but basically whatever J wants to do we will do as he won't be able to do anything for a few months.

Good luck with the diets, too! Although I prefer to think of it as eating healthier. I've been doing well and got sidetracked lately. Hopefully that will change soon.

Hope you all have a sparkling day!
• Good morning! I never get to be a participant in these threads.

In about 15 minutes I start day 1 of my gym membership and I'm excited. I have a new playlist on the iPod for the occassion and everything. :)

• Yeah, J's only reason for wanting to go instore instead of letting me use the lovely interwebs is: "I want to use the scanner gun thing!"  I tried explaining that playing with the "toy" is not worth me losing my sanity, but he doesn't want to hear it...I've resigned myself to walking in with an internet list and then going home and adding what we missed/deleteing what we don't need.

Jess - what gym are you going to?  J's aunt uses FitnessWorld or something like that and she loves it...I need to start going somewhere but I can't seem to find a place that's a national chain/easily accessible or a local chain/not going to blow my budget.

• Morning!  I can't believe so many people had horrible registry experiences.  We had the best consultant at BBB.  I guess it's just a crap shoot.

Good morning!! Im up bright and early today, because I get to go to my new job to sign stuff and discuss my pay and what not. SO EXCITED!!
• I'm using LA Fitness. I was able to sign on for $34 a month.

My friend and I did it together, and if we signed on as a family account, we only had to pay one set-up fee of $66 instead of two. My payment yesterday came out to $111.22.

We have a 24 Hour Fitness & LA Fitness in the area. I live closer to LA Fitness, and they won me over with not having contracts. You pay your first and last month's membership up front, but you don't have cancellation fees. They have all sorts of classes that I can choose from and they say that you can come into the classes late without penalty. The true winning point for me? They have racquetball courts and I love racquetball.
• My registry experience was just lengthy, but that was my fault, not theirs. But usually if I'm at a store like that and the salespeople are being reallly pushy, they usually back off when I start blatantly ignoring them and glaring at them after saying "No thank you" 50 times.
• *logs on to find an LAFitness near her*  That sounds freaking awesome.  You've got me in favor of the gym already ;)

LTB - That's what I'm worried about with BB&B.  My mom really wants me to consider registering there (and she wants me to do it soon, because apparently my relatives on her side are already gunning to get us stuff since we're graduating) but they're all technologically challenged and want to actually go the store and buy something.  I'm afraid that all the stuff we want will be internet only.  That irks me.

Nebb - Have a great day!  That's so awesome that you got the job you wanted - I love when good things happen to good people =]

Morning!

I totally feel you on the registry thing!  FI and I went to Macy's to register on Saturday and I had set it up on-line, but was convinced that registering in-store would be so much fun.  Wrong.  It was just really frustrating trying to decide what we wanted (there were, like, 15 different cookware sets!), what we actually needed, what we would be willing to move after the wedding, etc.  And then I'd see something I really liked and it would be ridiculously expensive and I felt like a brat putting it on the registry.  So we only have about 40 things on there now and that includes a crapload of towels of varying sizes.

Sarah - I'm so happy for you and also totally jealous that you're leaving Delaware, haha.  FI and I can't wait until we can get out of here after the wedding :)

Nebb - so exciting!!  Good luck on your first day!

NEBB! Congrats on the job! I missed this somehow. Well done and good luck today!

Congrats on the gym membership, Jess! I spent the weekend weighing/measuring/photographing myself and familarizing myself with my new exercises for a plan I'm starting tomorrow. I wanted to start today, but DH didn't leave my house until 10pm last night, and it was too late to go buy my food and cook it all for the week. So I'm starting tomorrow. I'm kind of excited! Just imagine yourself two months from now, and how much better you'll feel! :)
• SP - We meet this morning with a trainer and they'll do our BMI measurments and talk about healthy living and talk about my habits now vs my goal habits. Then they said that we'll talk about what my physical goals are and they'll tell me what I need to do to accomplish those goals, and then we'll do a workout.

I don't have a PT, but I would consider it if I was struggling with sticking with it. I may end up needing someone to hold me accountable, but I may not since the beautiful Nebb has already promised me that she'll be asking me about it regularly.

We registered at BB&B, and it wasn't terrible. It's a big store so it was a little overhwelming, but nothing too major. If you have a lot of OOT guests or are getting married in a city that your BB&B is nowhere near, you should do the registry online.

DH has a cousin who registered at a BB&B in Dallas, but got married in Houston. Our stores down here had NOTHING on their registry, so it was really hard to find gifts.

Off to workout.

Nebb, have a good first day!

• Good Morning!  I am already over this week...not a good sign.

I only registered in the store with Macy's and I hated it.  I didn't have time to make an appointment with my "consultant" so I just went in with Andy one night and did it.  Of course you can't register for half your crap without the consultant to go and do something fancy in the computer.  My other 2 registries I did online and I loved it.  I still go in the store from time to time and see if there is anything I really like/need.

Random thing:  I came into work today and I keep all of my "office shoes" here.  One pair is missing.  I highly doubt it was stolen but I wish I knew where they were :(

Oh I took them, and almost barfed. They shouldn't even make bikinis in my size. But holy cow are they good incentive to start eating better and working out! I have been inspired, let me tell you! :)
• I'm really cranky this morning.  Friday we got word that we're getting more furloughs/salary reductions for the next fiscal year, and the stupid co-worker whose job I did the past couple weeks sent an email this morning saying her dog had to go to the vet and basically told me what stuff of hers I had to work on today.  I also have to come in early again on Wednesday morning because she's going to be out working on something then too.  My boss is out all this week, and we're the only 3 people in the department, so I don't have anyone to help me out with this crap or tell me I don't need to do it.   I AM NOT EVEN GETTING PAID TO DO MY JOB WHY DO I HAVE TO KEEP DOING SOMEONE ELSES.
image
• Good morning, chicas! I'm trying my hand at stay-at-home-wife with week. My company ordered furloughs and this is my week. So I've been trying to list things to do. If I can get three assignments done today for school, I'll only have the final one left and then I graduate in 3 weeks, yay!

• Morning, everyone. We mowed the yard for the first time yesterday. I went out to help, meaning to pick up sticks and the balls we've been trying to get Max to fetch. Next thing you know, John's having me try out our new-to-us lawnmower.

Now, I've mowed many times (my first summer, I did it all the time, since I didn't start work until August) - it isn't a foreign concept. This one has speeds, is like I don't know - self propelled, and has caster wheels. It was like walking Max. Holy hell. I did give up after a while. The "super fertilized" grass area was not very cooperative.

The end result is I'm stiff and sore all over. But, I have high hopes for this week. I'm only a little delusional...
