Church Hunting

Looking for a quaint, old-fashioned looking church, to hold about 200 guests, in the Waconia-Buffalo, MN area. Trying to avoid the burnt orange pews in my church, and also don't want to spend a ton on the rental. Any suggestions??

    Kinda important - what religion?!

Don't let the aesthetics of your own church scare you.  You should be choosing your ceremony site based on what's important for the ceremony (religion, officiant) versus how it looks.  JMO

Protestant church- and we have our own pastor already.
I know the look isn't the most important part. But we're going more formal and old-fashioned in most other areas, and kinda wanted the church to match.

I bet there are lots of quaint, old-fashioned church buildings in that area, but as a church worker myself, I'll warn you that most congregations won't allow another pastor to come in and do the service.  A lot of congregations require their pastor to lead the service...so you might run up against some struggle there. Hopefully, it's helpful to know that in advance.

Do you think your pastor could recommend a few churches that he or she has a relationship with? He/she will probably have the best suggestions for you!

Otherwise, perhaps just calling around to a bunch of churches in that area (you can look on the denominations' websites for a listing within a geographic area and find their websites from there).

    Good luck!
