Cost of Plane Tix to HI

I know that we're like 10+ months out, but FI and I are planning on going to Hawaii for our HM.  I looked at plane tickets the other day (actually started by looking at using miles, but that won't work).  Anyway from Cincinnati to Honolulu, the tickets were $750.  Is that a reasonable price?  We fly all the time from Boston to Tennessee or to Cincinnati or Texas, and we usually pay between $300-$500.  So I'm wondering if these tickets seem reasonable, or if there are better deals out there.

Just trying to wrap my head around the cost.

    I've been looking at hawaii and that isn't a bad price not knowing your dates/times. The last search I did on Kayak I found a few flights for 728 but no less then that.  Have you tried a travel agent?  They sometimes have better deals on flights.

    When I went to HI it was $850 per ticket on a direct flight from O'Hare...it'd say that's a good price

    Yeah, I'd say that's great!  I've been researching for next summer too from Columbus (small world) and I feel like everything was around $1100 each!!!  I better look into leaving from Cincy!  :)

    Thats less than how much it is from Newark, NJ. I'd say it's pretty fair.

    i would suggest sigining up for travel alerts from tripadvisor.com.  i know i'm a little closer in AZ, but they have some great deals going on right now.  we went to HI last year and ended up paying around $400 per ticket.  a few months ago, my BF's parents got a rt ticket from phoenix to honolulu for $282!!!  obviously since you are going farther it'll be a little bit more, but they wouldn't have known about that deal without the fare alert emails.

    We just got back.  Our tickets were $850 each from Pittsburgh to Honolulu.

    Right now I've noticed they are super cheap from my area (baltimore) but I went once in November and paid maybe $700 round trip and then this past march and paid $1270 so it varies widely.

    That's a really long flight for you, which is why it's so expensive. It also depends on the time of year, and you're looking to go during a time that is probably considered about peak. We're going to Maui for our honeymoon, and we were able to get tickets for $330 RT (+tax) from Seattle. The flight is 6 hours from Seattle, so that gives you an idea of how long the flight is.

    We bought ours last month, they were right abuot $750 per ticket to go in August and thats flying from the west coast. They are supposedly cheaper in May but maybe becuase you are flying from further away.

    Check out samsclub travel and costco travel for some good deals on hawaii, we ended up booking ours on sams club online
