Western Skies Golf Club Gilbert follow up

Any new input for Western Skies?? I am going to take a look this weekend and I am interested to see what anyone else has experienced there.  I feel like I have been everywhere in the east valley, either in person or on the web and I am still looking for the "right" place with the "right" price.  I have looked at the Holiday Inn on Country Club too and they were reasonable with there price, I am just concerned with photo opportunities since there are buildings all around.  I really want someplace that I can afford and have great pictures too.  I have looked at The Wright House, Val Vista Lakes, Tre Bella, and Superstition Springs GC and all are either too much for my budget (5K or less) or not what I am looking for.  It is getting very frustrating...I just want to find a place!!! I know I will feel much better once that is done.  Anyway, I am new to this site and have enjoyed all the advice I have been reading, any feedback would be much appreciated!

Welcome to the board!  I haven't been to Western Skies, but golf courses always provide great pics!  Good luck at the venue, and tell us what you think after :)

I actually booked Western Skies for November! You really can't beat the price. The golf course is nice and the reception area is in the restaurant area. There is a big patio and the inside is nice. The vibe inside is very casual, since there is a bar and tvs but I think it will be fun for my guests. They will show you pics and give you a dvd of what it looks like dressed up. I haven't been able to find any reviews yet either! I am really interested to hear what you think after!

I am getting married at Superstition Springs Golf course.... right now if you book before the end of the month, they offer $500 off... I have also looked everywhere and really cannot find anything cheaper unless it's in the ghetto.... The Antique Wedding House is just not pretty....

Have you seen the Landmark restaurant its beautiful and I belive inexpensive....

Lins, I am so happy to hear you have booked with them.  We are going for our tasting this weekend and I think we are also set on having our special day there.  Jim is great!  He seems so dedicated to making this day as wonderful as I am imagining and the price is definitely one that can't be beat, and believe me I looked.  I also looked at Superstition Springs and fell in love with them too (they were the first place I looked at).  However, in order to get them within my budget I had to take almost everything away from their package.  The packages at Western Skies have everything I need and more and the flexibility is a huge plus for us since we are paying for this ourselves.  I will most likely be putting my deposit down this weekend and getting married 2-5-11 (our 10 year anniversary).  The relaxed, low key atmosphere in the reception area is just our style...a perfect place for a rockin party to celebrate our marriage.

I totally agree. Did he mention to you that he would take care of DJ, cake, flowers and photographer too? What are your thoughts on that?

I have a friend that will be doing my photography at a reduced rate, my bridesmaid will be doing cupcakes instead of cake and I will be doing the flowers myself.  I will be paying a pretty penny on the DJ but with the money we are saving on the venue I figure I can afford the extra money for a memorable celebration.  I think when I added everything up I was saving money by getting the other vendors myself but it is worth looking into to see what he can offer.  Let me know what you find out if you decide to go through him.
