morning

I do not want to go to work today. I spent about 4 hours on campus yesterday 'checking in' on a few big groups that moved in, so it doesn't feel like I got a Sunday. wah. But, it rained last night finally, and the temp dropped from 95 to 60, so it feels wonderful outside :)

Anyway. How's everyone today? Anything exciting going on this week?

Re: morning

  • Good morning.

I'm up and not pleased about it.  My H had some sort of nightmare about 45 minuites ago and decided to grab my arm in the middle of it.  Scared the crap outta me so now I'm totally awake even though I totally could have slept in until 8ish.

But yeah, it's beautiful out finally.  We never got any rain but it's 61F and I'll take it.

Lots of stuff to do today.  Dr. appt, homework, make some apple crisp, mow the lawn, work out, clean the house, and weed the garden since it totally didn't get any upkeep besides watering while it was super hot.
  • Good morning! I'm sipping coffee on the patio, enjoying being outside before it hits 90 plus degrees today...I guess Summer has arrived in Houston.

Class today, then a paper revision then some light housekeeping. That's all I'm doing. I need a day to chill.
  • This is lame, but I'm jealous of your housekeeping. I could use a day to really clean. H tries, but it's just not the same. ;) I told him we're saving up for a housekeeper those first few months after baby comes.
  • Morning. I'm going nuts over a CW who keeps dumping change on his desk, sorting through it, putting it back in the metal container, and making annoying slurping sounds with his water bottle. He needs a new desk location. Or I need to be a nicer. less easily annoyed person. I'm thinking he just needs to move though.

Not much happening this week, but next week is vacation. I can't wait. And I'm going to Target today to use my gfit cards, which is always fun.

</div><div>Doesn't sound lame at all...I keep telling FI that I need a housekeeper or maid service during semester, but he says no.  Both of my daughters help with the chores, but they're away for the summer.</div><div>
</div><div>I HIGHLY recommend a housekeeper for after the baby, I remember being so tired and busy that the bare bones got done. I had no time or energy for anything above keeping the bathrooms, kitchen and laundry done.   Even if it's someone to come in twice a month to dust and do deep cleaning, it's worth it! </div><div>
</div><div>Maybe find a college student who wants to earn some extra money???</div><div>
</div><div>The difference with a service, is that their maids are bonded and insured, but your homeowners policy may have provisions for contractors working on your property?

  • Morning! I'm surprisingly chipper for it being Monday morning. Especially given that I'm not a morning person.

Not much going on today, it's my last week at work so I'm just working on phasing myself out.

I am apparently a huge space case cause I have NO recollection of how I left work on Friday. I dont remember anything I had on the go, things I was working on, or things that may need to be done today. I just have absolutely no clue. Oh I know why, cause its lame as fhuck!

Other than impatiently anticipating the TLo recap of mad men, and catching up on my reading tonight when I get home, I honestly dont have anything going on.
  • Morning!!

I have a doctors appointment soon and then I'm going to spend the day doing things for myself. I spent the week helping other people, volunteering, or tutoring so today I'm going to take it easy with the pups. I'm going to make myself a homemade ice cream sundae tonight. I'm pumped!

Even though I don't have a job and I have time to clean everyday, I always feel like I can't get everything crossed off the list. If I go back to work after the baby, I will definitely consider hiring one.

  • My Target spree will be mostly things I need for my trip, and maybe the movie John Carter.

I'm still trying to decide how I feel about the premier of True Blood. Part of me loved it, part of me was hoping for a little...more, maybe? More excitement, I guess.
  • I DVRed Mad Men and will be watching it tonight. I was just too wiped out last night to stay up and watch it. I did catch True Blood though, and it was goooooood, even though Chris Meloni hasn't made his appearance yet. And lemme just say, I'm still head-over-heels for Alcide and Eric. I'd have a vampire-werewolf-mehgan sandwich with them.

</div><div>I feel the same way!  May I ask, are you still getting tired easily? I remember just nodding off sometimes when I was PG...out of the blue, I'd get so sleepy!

  • Morning! I will be really busy at work the next two days and then hopefully I can you the last 2 days of the week to finally catch up on my work. It's great to see a light at the end of the tunnel.

We should find out today whether the person we offered the position below mine to will accept. She wanted to talk it over with her parents which I found a little odd but she was awesome otherwise. I guess I get why someone straight out of college might want to discuss it with her parents, but I don't think I would say that to an employer.

I have seriously considered getting a housekeeper in once a month for deep cleaning. We don't even have a good excuse like a new baby, we're just both lazy. Once the wedding isn't digging into my funds I think I will look into it more seriously.

  • I've never seen an episode of Mad Men or True Blood...I'm too busy in the evening, and just never DVR'ed them...I guess I'll have to catch up on Hulu.

It always sorta makes me side eye people when I find out they dvr'd mad men to do something else, even sleep. You do not dvr the finale of mad men. Its like an insult to the show or something.

I have vacation coming up lizzie, but not until the beginning of august. While thats nice and all im sure itll just be 10x the shitshow it is when I take 1 day off. The woman whos position I took over recently is hell bent on making my life difficult in a bid to make me look bad so whenever im gone she brings problems to light I didnt even know I needed to look for.

I was so freaking tired during the first trimester and was feeling much much better the second. It has been creeping back though. I found myself taking a nap the past two days and drooling! I never drool. Haha.

</div><div>Maybe she just didn't realize, but that comes with experience...I remember being that young once.</div><div>
</div><div>I used to have the housekeeper come every other Friday...there was nothing better than walking into a spotless apartment at the beginning of the weekend! I'd pour a glass of wine, sit on the couch and just take it all in with a satisfied sigh.

  • Morning. Between my afternoon nap yesterday and my dog not wanting to sleep last night, I was up for a few hours so I'm really dragging today. Today was supposed to be my RSVP deadline and I have less than 25 so I guess I'll start calling at the end of this week.

In Response to Re:morning:What's going on with your dog Brandi? Posted by LetsHikeToday I think she was just wanting to be playful. She kept getting down and running around in circles and then wanting to come snuggle again. She might have been getting hot under the blanket. Eta: well I figured it out. FI was eating leftovers late last night and I guess he didn't finish them or put them away so she was snacking on those from his side of the bed. I just caught her red handed. I hate when he leaves stuff where she can reach it.

FI always jokes that he sleeps so good when I'm at work.

  • yo.

We had a great weekend. Hog roast and party all day Sat. and yesterday we went over to MIL's and hung out in the pool most of the day. I finally have a little bit of a tan :)

I forgot about a crapload of reports that I needed to run this morning, so I'm working on those then have a few meetings today. I do get to leave at 3 for a dr. appt, so it'll be a kind of short day.

  • Morning!

I definitely talked with my parents about my first job offer out of school, but I didn't/wouldn't tell my employer that.  But I get why she wants to talk to them.  I had no idea what was appropriate to try to negotiate, what was considered good for benefits, etc.

Hike and Steph I can't believe how far along you both are already!
