Is anyone getting married in Durango?

Right now the plan is to get married in Durango in September of this year. However, I'm veryyyyy, very nervous about planning a destination wedding in a small town. I've figured out the venue, but I'm most nervous about the cake, flowers, hair and make-up.  Does anyone have any recommendations? Otherwise, I might seriously consider having a wedding here in Scottsdale ;)

Durango is a dope spot! The vendors will be small I'm sure but the people in that town and very attentive, smart and nice. There is a lot of money and educated people in Durango so don't worry. I know the vibe in 'lax hippi there but you should be fine! I know Lemonhead Hair salon is a great place to get pampered and get your hair done, (they carry Pureology and other nice products) my friend Shiloh used to work there, we went to her engagement party held at The Palace Restaurant and it was amazing. The Strater hotel is a great place for cocktails and good times. Mesa Verde is not too far away and worth the drive. We saw wild horses running through the park while visiting.

I will ask her if she has recommendations on cake and floral shops and if so, get back to you. Good luck and don't be nervous, Durango is great!

I was in Durango this weekend, and I booked my ceremony at Durango Mountain Resort. The coordinator there is SO nice. My photographer is Illuminarts photography.

Let me know if you have any ideas for make-up and flowers!

I live in Durango and all my friends work in the wedding industry. Sorry I didn't see this sooner.

Cake: Heather Hinsley at Cake Cafe is the best! www.mycakecafe.com
She has the best tasting cakes in town. If you are looking for fondant, go elsewhere.

Hair and Make up: Michelle Campbell used to be at Lemonhead but she has moved to Velvet Monkey: wwww.mcmakeupandhair.com

Flowers: Two I recommend, they are very competitive: www.blossomofdurango.com and www.schluterfloral.com.

Need a DJ, musician, chocolates, more?

I would like to add that I am not in the wedding/bridal industry. It's a small town and I know a lot of people. I am also getting married in a few months so I am more familiar than I was before. Good luck!
