Overall, our wedding was amazing! We were so blessed with a beautiful day. I'm a little sad that it's over, but glad that I don't have to plan and save anymore! My big advice, make time to take a breather and take in the excitement of the day! Also, my Nonni gave me this advice and I'm so glad I took it... When your walking down the aisle, make sure you look at your groom. Don't look at everyone and everything else. It was the best feeling ever and something I'll never forget! I hope these reviews help whomever comes across them.
The Golf Club at Fossil Creek (Venue) A+
The venue is absolutely gorgeous for an outdoor ceremony and indoor reception. The venue provides all the chairs, linens, catering, setup/tear down, round of golf for DH, etc. The site is very affordable and very accommodating. The staff is great well except for 1 waitress, which was very rude and unprofessional. I’ve had a few people comment on how rude she was. I will be contacting the DOC to let her know about the issues. The DOC at the country club is Rachel, she is so sweet and responds to all questions in a timely manner. The day of the wedding, I was at ease somewhat because the DOC kept telling me that everything is being taken care of. Although, there were certain things that weren’t done that I was a bit annoyed with that she should have done instead of my mom doing them or it not being done at all. Other than that she made sure everything ran smoothly. We had a buffet dinner with heavy appetizers and a pasta station. The food was delicious. We are still receiving compliments from our guests regarding how much they liked the food. The bartender was apparently awesome and a ton of fun. Also, their website is nice and up-to-date.
Mary’s Bridal and Tuxedo (Wedding dress) B
I located my Maggie Sottero dress online and contacted the store to see if they would hold it so I could come in to try it on. The service was very good, but the inside of the store was pretty awful. So cram packed with dresses and stuff everywhere. I wouldn’t say that it was the best for trying on dresses, but I knew that it was my dress so I didn’t care. I got a great deal on my dress there too.
David's Bridal Ft. Worth (Bridesmaid dresses) A
We received great service here, they were very prompt in helping us. The dresses turned out perfect and the girls loved them.
The girls also received a free 8X8 Shutterfly book with the purchase. The only thing I didn’t care for was when the dresses arrived they didn’t call some of the girls. It was odd, we had to call them to find out if the dresses were in.
Men’s Wearhouse (Tuxes) B+
Overall, I’m pleased with the tuxes and most of the service. I thought all of the men looked so handsome! The only issue was one GM tux missing when he went to pick it up. They had no idea where it was or when it could get there. After a nice little talk from my DH, they found the tux and gave it to the GM for free. Other than that, no issues at all. I would recommend them to anyone.
Joie de Vivre Photography (Photographer) A++++
I LOVE our photographer! Jennifer Vail is her name and she is the sweetest, funniest, coolest photographer! She'll instantly make you feel comfortable and definitely make you laugh! I highly recommend her. Her prices are very good, all inclusive packages or individual. I haven’t seen our wedding pictures yet, but I am sure they will be awesome. She definitely loves capturing everything WR especially things like detailed shots, dance shots and special moments of the Bride & Groom.
The Connection Wholesale Florist (Flowers) A
We DIY’d our flowers. It turned fairly easy, but we didn’t have enough help. A friend of mine offered to do our flowers at no cost other than the flowers. They helped us in figuring out how much to order, and gave us instructions on how to care for them until the wedding. We ordered a bunch of flowers 2 weeks before the wedding and were picked up the morning of the wedding. I would recommend picking them up the day before or starting very early the day of if there is limited help. The flowers were so cheap and gorgeous! There were a few issues with DIYing them, but I would do it again if I would have enlisted more help for my friend. She worked so hard for what she did with some help from my Nonni. Overall, I’m happy with the way it turned out.
123print.com, paperandmore.com (Invites) A
I DIY’d our invites and thought they turned out great. I ordered paper from paperandmore.com and it arrived in less than a week nicely packaged. It was the right color also, which can be hard to determine online. I do wish I would have ordered a metallic paper instead of matte though. I designed our invitations on 123print.com. They were great quality, true to color that you see on the website and they also arrived nicely packaged.
Figment Productions (DJ) A++
Doug was our DJ, he was great and he kept the dance floor full all night. For the price, you get a husband and wife team. Doug stays in the DJ booth playing music and emcee-ing, and Laura is the go-between. Doug and Laura were amazing to work with. I loved using their online planner so that DH and I could put thought into our music at our own pace. Having Laura at our reception as a coordinator of sorts really helped things flow smoothly. She made sure we had drinks in hand, and she checked in with us about the flow of the party to make sure we were ready for each thing. They also provided lighting for the dance floor. I would highly recommend them, especially for the price.
Texas Star Bakery (Cake) A++
The bridal cake was absolutely beautiful and exactly what I envisioned. The groom’s cake was perfect, my DH designed it and it came out exactly as envisioned! The cakes were delicious and everyone commented about awesome the cakes tasted. We ended up having more leftover than
expected so we got to save the top layer for our 1st year
anniversary.
Bailey, Banks and Biddle (E-rings) A
Not much to say about this vendor since they closed almost right after my DH bought my rings. They were awesome though!
James Avery (FI's ring) A
We searched everywhere for his ring and he finally found his band here. Awesome service and they worked with him on the ring. The edges of the ring were very sharp and cutting his finger so they smoothed/rounded the edges for him. It’s perfect now!
Shutterfly.com (Guestbook) A+
This was the 3rd book I made, but not in the size I ordered
(12X12). I was worried about the quality of the pictures with that large of a book, but it was perfect. We loved how it turned out and would highly recommend this vendor. The price was great for a 20+ page, leather cover, 12X12 book which was under $75.
SparklerRus (Sparklers) A+
I picked this vendor because the price beat other vendors that I looked at. I ordered our sparklers for the get-away the Monday before the wedding. I added a note to the order to make sure they were in my hands no later than Thursday. The sparklers arrived on Wednesday in perfect condition. I loved the 2 ½ minute sparklers we ordered, they were perfect for the amount of people and the length of our walk out of the venue.
Becky Fowler (Alterations) A+++
She is one of the sweetest people in the world and does amazing work. She is very reasonable, probably the best price I had heard of. I don’t think there’s anything that I can say about Becky that hasn’t already been said.
Pappasito's Cantina (Rehearsal Dinner) A+
Great place to have an RD, loved the food and great service. We had our own private room with closed doors overlooking the river. There was so much food left, I couldn’t believe it. The waitress also got me my own special frozen strawberry margarita!
Shannon Caldwell (Makeup) A-
I had airbrush makeup and loved it! I loved the look/feel of it and was well worth the money. My makeup looked great all night long and didn’t even feel like I had makeup on. She did my make up plus 3 other bridesmaids and everyone looked beautiful. Shannon is very talented and her prices are very reasonable. The only issue I had with her was my official appt was at 2pm, 3 BMs had already had already had their makeup done and Shannon had to leave at 2pm to go do another wedding. My MOH called me to tell me this while I was getting my hair done and told me to hurry up. Needless to say that started my stress for the day. I arrived at 2pm and Shannon tells me not to worry that she has plenty of time because one of the girls from the other wedding cancelled. She also needs a personal assistant or something because she has way too much going on. Loved her work other than that.
Kristin Turk (Hair) A+
I absolutely loved my hair for the wedding. We did a trial run 2 weeks before the wedding, which I liked, but wasn’t in love. We changed it up just a tad and it turned out perfect!
Hilton Anatole – (Night of Hotel) A+
This hotel is beautiful and we got a great deal on the room. DH called ahead to get us a corner suite and it was awesome. Very big, squishy bed and great service.
