PLEASE HELP: Puerto Vallarta!

Hi Ladies,

So I have a cousin that's a T/A in Miami and she has a deal for $500 for 5 nights in PV; I have three options for a place to stay:

- RIU Palace Pacifico
- Hotel RIU Vallarta
- Palace Resorts: Vallarta Palace

Now, I stayed at the RIU Palace Resort and HATED it. Wouldn't go there for a FREE vacation if I had the chance, it was just THAT bad.

Have any of you been to any of these resorts??? I have to mak a decsion by 5pm today!!! PLEASE HELP!!!

I'm probably not much help since you needed to make a decision yesterday, but... I stayed at the Riu Jalisco back in March - right nextdoor to the Riu Vallarta. We visited the Vallarta since it was part of the deal, but didn't spend a ton of time there. It was nice, but nothing spectacular. Overall, the food at both resorts SUCKED. I lived on chicken patties and crappy fries for the week b/c the food was so bad - and I'm not a picky eater at all. We met some people who were staying at the Riu Palace who said the rooms, grounds and food were much better down there.

On a side note, I would suggest going to Rancho Capomo for an excursion if you're the adventurous type. We did horseback riding, ATV riding and ziplining out there and it was so fun! They also make you homemade fajitas for lunch afterwards and serve tequila made there on the ranch as part of your tour package.

We honeymooned at the Vallarta Palace in Sept 08 and LOVED IT! Very nice pools/room, friendly staff, good food/drinks. Couldn't have asked for anything better!
