No need for chicken cake...all it took for Matt to propose was a copy of the new Star Trek movie and a bottle of wine. That is how we geeks roll.

The ring is customized, but it similar to a design by Brilliant Earth. He did a great job!

Matt left me a voicemail that I needed to change out of my scrubs after work because we were going out for a surprise. My mind was racing all the way home. Turns out his 'suprise' was driving to Best Buy so we could buy the newest Star Trek movie... I will admit I felt pretty defeated when we got home.

That night he made a really nice dinner of chicken parmesan- looking back it was the first meal he ever made for me. After the movie we were fininshing off the wine when out of the blue he got down on one knee (between the couch and the coffee table) and asked me to marry him. I said yes and the rest is history.

We are both incredibly geeky people and so our friends and family agree that it was the perfect proposal for us.
