I don't agree with it, but what do you do?  She's not doing anything illegal.

There's no law to protect the child.  I think you should have to be 18 and able to sign and consent yourself to get Botox injections, but apparently you don't.

I agree.  I think it's super sad that she thinks her dimples make her ugly though...

I have no problem with it- so long as the mom is also going to pay for the years of therapy this girl is going to need as an adult to get over her self esteem issues...or for her stripper shoes...

    ...Shakes head.

You know, for an aesthetician, that mom is fugly.

Honestly, if she has to hide where she gets the botox from, it's probably not legal.  Hello CPS...you've got a kid to come pick up.

Oh, I missed that.  There's been quite a few articles on this, each one tells the story a little different.

I think the original one I read said that she was some kind of nurse or licensed and could administer it.

    You crack me up, shoes.

I was suspicious of that too, but I could see her wanting to spare him all the negative publicity when it's not really his issue.

Also, she is licensed to administer it, but she has to buy it from somewhere.

Wow once I think I've seen it all...  I'm against the pageants to begin with so my opinion is biased, but it's obviously teaching this little girl that her looks are more important than anything else.

Also after reading the article I had to google "Virgin Waxing" and this is what I came up with: http://gothamist.com/2008/08/15/virgin_bikini_waxing_now_popular_fo.php

Turns out it's bikini waxes for 8 year olds, I think that's what they were referring to in the video when they said "upper leg region."  Its sickening and it's sad.

I was SEETHING when I first saw this!

In the interview, when asked where she gets her botox from, mom said that she would not reveal her source/doctor.  THAT is because said doctor would be FRY from the malpractice.  I'm sure they'll catch up to him later somehow.

She justifies that this is a common thing in pagaents - that "all the other moms do it."

Her daughter says she checks for wrinkles every night in the mirror, and asks for injections.  How sad.  She's going to age like Michael Jackson.

But perhaps the saddest thing is that people like THIS are given children when there are so many loving, caring and good people that just want a child - any child - aren't.

I'm against pageants as well.  They force little girls to grow up too quickly and they distort their perception of reality.  They show children that looks are more important than anything else and oftentimes children are only in pageants because their moms have self esteem issues and are living vicariously through their children.

But botox, really!? That's taking it just a little bit too far.  IMHO most people who get botox look WORSE after the injections.  They look so fake and deformed to me.
