I've posted a couple times around here but never actually introduced myself so I figured - better late than never?
My FI proposed on New Years at Seven in downtown Minneapolis. We started looking at Venues right away and chose a Friday night wedding on 10/1/10 at The Mermaid in Mounds View. The funny thing is, we had been to The Mermaid in the past for tacos and drinks and never considered the option of getting married there. But then we heard a couple people talk about it and after we checked it out we were sold. We are planning to have both our ceremony and reception there. We were especially pleased with the fact that there is a hotel right there so our guests will not need to worry about driving (especially those out of town guests). So far we have only set our date, booked our venue and DJ. We are going with Instant Request for our DJ. This weekend my Mom and I are going wedding dress shopping. My next step is to ask our bridal party to stand up with us. Then I need to dig back in to finding a photographer. I've looked at photographers a little bit and am quite overwhelmed by all of the options and prices!
