Is anyone not walking down the isle to the traditional "here comes the bride...."? If so, what song are you walking down the isle to? I'm walking down to Everytime I close my eyes by Baby Face and Mariah Carey.
I'm not sure yet. Not only can I not stand the "here comes the bride" it is actually not allowed to be played at a catholic ceremony because of its meaning.
I was also going to walk to Somewhere Over the Rainbow. But then one of my friends told me that it sounds kinda corny, as if FI finally made his way over the rainbow and then found me instead of a pot of gold. So maybe I'll make that my BM's song and pick something else for me. I love the idea of Claire De Lune.
It's not anything original but I absolutely love Canon in D so that's what I am walking down to. We've hired a string duo for the ceremony, which is something that I have always wanted for my wedding. It was definitely a splurge, but so worth it in my opinion!
I have been trying to figure this out! I don't really want to do anything taditional...so I'm not sure yet. I like Butterfly Waltz, and Music box Dancer....but I'm still looking.

I have no clue!! Any other ladies getting married in a Catholic church want to share their songs? We still have to set up the mass with our priest and I have no idea what I want to do. Plus, I'm not sure what the church's restrictions are.

I am walking to Storybook love from the Princess Bride, the instrumental version. I was thinking Marry Me by Train for when the parents and MOH walk, then the recessional song might be Blake Shelton's Nobody but me.
My bridesmaids and I are coming down to Vitamin String Quartet's "Falling Slowly." Ideally, I'll come in when the song crescendos around/after 2:16 in this video (it's a short aisle). FI will probably edit the music so the song is a bit shorter, ending it around 3:45. Our recessional will be Vitamin String Quartet's "All You Need is Love," and FI is also going to edit it so it begins around 1:00 (hear it here), so we get to walk out to the chorus!

This is what I'm going to do. That song has been significant to me for many years. It is my favorite song ever.

Love it. My sister has been vowing for years that she's going to walk to that when she gets married. I tear up just thinking about it.
I'm walking to a section of this, but I haven't quite decided which one yet:
I am almost 100% sure I will walk to Blackbird by the Beatles the instrumental version. My BM's probably another instrumental Beatles song, just not sure yet.

OMG I cannot STAND "Here Comes the Bride," so yeah...won't be walking down to that. I will be walking down the aisle to "Your Hand in Mine" by Explosions in the Sky. < ---- clicky. FI and I are HUGE Friday Night Lights fans (show and the movie). This song is in the movie and it is just so beautiful and makes me want to cry. I will probably be bawling down the aisle...I kinda hope it makes FI tear up a little too
I haven't figured out what the rest of the ceremony songs will be yet...I'm thinking maybe Vitamin String Quartet's version of "Stolen" by Dashboard Confessional for when the BM's walk out.

I am walking down the aisle to She's got a Way by Billy Joel. Possibly using Thank You for Loving me by Bon Jovi for the girls and We go Together from Grease as our recessional song :-)

That's a BEAUTIFUL choice! I love that piece. My fiance wants Pachabel's Canon in D, but to me it's so over-played I can't stand it. I also don't like the bridal march, or a lot of the more traditional music used, even though we are a traditional couple. I've kinda got this fantasy of having everyone walk down the aisle to Ravel's Bolero, but probably not gonna happen. We both love Tchaikovsky, so I think we'll probably go with the Coronation March for the recessional, but I'm really liking Chopin's Autumn Rain for the processional.
Re: Walking down the isle song
I'm using Debussy's Claire de Lune.
Played by one of my Uncles and one of My FI's

The song comes from an opera by Wagner. (Not that the marriage the song precedes is very happy.)

Most likely either the bit starting at about 5:30 or the bit starting at about 7:20.

Here is a link to the music on youtube:

Before I heard this piece, I wanted to walk to "Falling In Love In a Coffee Shop" by Landon Pigg, or "Best Friend" by Queen.

The BM and processional will be Air on the G (arranged for strings)
I'll be walking down to Can't Help Falling in Love with You (again, arranged for strings)
I get teary just thinking about it. Ugh, hormones and lack of sleep!
