  It's just one more thing to tie your wedding together.  It also lets your guests know what you're serving - definitely not needed if you're doing a buffet.

  It's not necessary if you don't want them.
  
  I think I've attended one wedding that had them.  They're nice, but they're an easy expense to cut.

  We had them because we had tableside ordering, and we thought it would be easier for our guests if they could see their options in writing instead of having the waitstaff repeat themselves over and over.

  I've never been to a wedding IRL that had them.  Not necessary IMO

  Definitely not necessary, but a nice touch. We did one card per table on a small black easel.
  
  I found this awesome etsy seller who does great work for a relatively inexpensive price. I was burned out on DIY projects close to the wedding and had her make my table numbers and menu cards:
